Fits to perfection, and needed in the WORST way! Oh man, let me tell you, oil was getting everywhere! Leaking down all the sides, it was bad news bears. Which would get exponentially worse the more it got warmed up.
Installation was a breeze, just have patience and take your time with it. The hardest part was getting the plastic cover side piece off/back on cause it’s kinda wedged in there, but it’s not too bad.
The replacement gasket (this product) is everything you would hope it to be and more. The size is absolutely perfect, it comes with new little rubber grommit/oring things for where the cover screws meet the gasket, it’s excellent. Plus it comes in a brilliant electric blue color! I wish I would have taken a picture of it next to the old one, the difference in color/condition was staggering!
Just in case anybody needed the info, I included a diagram of the torque amount(62 INCH pounds, not much!)/order you should reinstall cover screws in. Unless you are planning on standing on your windshield while putting cover back on, I modified diagram to be easier to read, but included both pics just in case. I’m not sure how many other models/years have this particular engine in them, but the diagram is an exact match for my 2001 Ford Escort Zx2, so use that information as you see fit.
To wrap up, I give this product an A++! It’s a fantastic gasket!… a FANGASTICKET! I am 100 percent satisfied and think you will be too. Give it a try, you won’t regret it!

I really love these Fel-Pro gaskets. The gasket was a perfect fit for my 98 Ford Contour. I just pulled out the old gasket and popped the new one in place.
