    Used to fix typical SBF front driver side coolant leak. Original fiber gasket pulped after re-torquing to reduce leak the second time. Fel-Pro 1250S3 Manifold Gasket Set. Used on AFR-185 heads and Holley Systemax lower with factory Ford torque pattern. Ports did not match gasket. Gasket slightly larger than manifolds. Decided to use just a dab 440-B Gasgacinch to hold it down and coated the water jackets with Permatex 82195 Ultra Grey Rigid High-Torque RTV Silicone Gasket Maker just to be sure. Discard cork valley gaskets and lay a fat bead of RTV to seal the manifold. Use new O-ring on distributor since old one is likely nicked, cut, or swollen. Lube with oil.

    According to Fel-Pro this 1250S-3 will fit a stock 1966 289 head but they are wrong. The water jacket openings are so large they overlap the edge of the machined surface on the head. They also include block-off plates for the heat riser, but the gaskets don’t have an opening for a heat riser. Do they expect you to cut an opening yourself just so you can use the block-off?

    I picked up MS 90103-1 from the local parts store and it fits much better. True to form, these other Fel-Pro gaskets do have the heat riser port but don’t come with block-off plates. I had to use the ones that came with the wrong size gaskets.

    Good gaskets, just don’t use the exhaust cross over block offs with them, throw them away. DO NOT glue them to the head as they say, just drill a 1/4 inch hole for exhaust.

    This product seems to have solved the problem I had with water leaking into my intake. The issue for me is my heads have a water port at both ends and the intake manifold does not. The dead-head water port kept warping the normal gaskets and I would get water into one cylinder. So far this has held up with no leaks. It also fit much better than the standard part number for the 351-W intake.

    No it didn’t one end leaked antifreeze and I replaced them with regular Fel Pro MS set no more 1250S3 gaskets for me , money right out the window.

    Solid gaskets, well constructed. This version has the exhaust crossover is blocked, make sure this is what you want for your application.
