They worked great although I have not started the engine yet

Used these on my 355 to bump compression up to 10.3:1 and get quench in proper range, I didn’t read instructions until heads were torqued down that you have to have a certain finish on deck and heads, mine were very rough and pitted but the gasket still sealed just fine, wish I sprayed them down with copper coat or high tack before but oh well they have been working fine for 3 months now
Dustin Kalland –
These are the best for the most compression. Your head and block has to be within tolerance.
Raceaford5 –
As described. Used copper spray for extra sealing

Putting together a small block Chevrolet with Vortec heads. This gasket is perfect for this application. 0.015″ thickness will allow for great “squish” which is the key to making a very turbulent mixture, which equates to great power, and eliminate detonation even on high compression ratio builds. Do your research before building your engine to determine squish gap, and by use these head gaskets.

Bought for a 350 I was building. Very good quality as I expected and I will be buying again.
Professional welder –
I used them with copper spray because the machine finishes weren’t the best on my block and didn’t have any issues with them sealing good even while reusing old head bolts.
Nick –
I used these when I installed AFR 195 aluminum heads. They come with a slight rubber coating and should be installed dry on a smooth deck. The heads should be flat and smooth as well. No leaks, ideal quench, and the only way they’ll blow is with horrible detonation. Also don’t be worried about brinelling. Slap em on, torque em down, and run em.
If your head surface is a little rough (as long as they’re not warped): hit em with 120grit using a flat surface, remove the rubber coating on the shim with brake cleaner or carb cleaner, wipe off everything, and shoot the shims with 3 light coats of copper gasket sealer to get a better chance of sealing.
*DO NOT SPRAY SEALER DIRECTLY ON THE RUBBER.*
The two chemicals will irritate each other and it will start to peel and flake off.

These work great , no issues,
