It’s a filter. I have a 2018 Kia Soul. Seemed a tad too big. Not much. I just squeezed it in. The one I removed (that I paid mega bucks to have installed) was all squished up. So maybe it’s not as easy as the YouTube videos show. Even more so when you can’t see. Trying to contort my body to see where this goes was not an easy task and I may have injured a rib in the process. I got the filter in. The cover … eh … it’s on there good enough since that filter isn’t going anywhere…. And then that other little door. I also used this as a good opportunity to clean out the glove compartment. It’s amazing what one collects in there after a cross country trip. Above all, when you are changing your cabin filter, have some tissues handy to blow your nose and dry your tears after a good cry during your pity party.

Dealership wanted to charge $62 for a $11 filter, so did it myself. A bit annoying that stuff in the filter had popcorn in it but could have been emptied. They crammed it back in without dumping it and it would not have performed well being wrinkled going in. I got it in easily once I got the glove box “pried” open. I am sure they have a tool. Mine was called “determination”. I think it works great!

I had no idea I had a cabin air filter and that it needed to be changed. In all the times I’ve taken my car to get am oil change, no one told me about this until recently. The business offered to change it but it seemed expensive. So I searched on Amazon and found this for a good price. The filter itself isn’t hard to install, it’s getting to it in my car. Awkward position.
