I put a pair of these in the front end of a Taurus recently and found out why everyone and their mother reports that any brand of strut is a bear to get into the car: Ford designed the chassis of the car to not be open enough to easily accept a new strut. Even with a whole assembly such as this, you have to take a rod, such as a large screwdriver and put it through the lower bolt loop on the back of the strut and sort of manhandle it into the knuckle while holding down rather precariously onto the knuckle itself. BTW: be sure to get an alignment after this. With the amount of bending and use of “magic words” Ford’s lack of brilliance will force you to use, things in there will be just enough out for one to be needed. Again, it’s something that will happen with any strut you put in there. Not just these: which deliver a buttery smooth ride and fine handling. Especially, when the price is considered.

Fit perfect, well made and worked great !!

Price was good, fast service. Don’t know if it is normal but the new ones were 5/8 inch longer than the old ones which made it very difficult to get in.

Reasonably priced.

The fact that these struts are a real chore to install is thanks to Ford (’06 Taurus) designing for ease of production with little attention given to replacement. For the price $130/pair these are a solid product. Just as heavy as the OEM comes with coil spring already installed you are just making it way more difficult than needed getting them any other way. Nice bounce too I give these an A would buy again

Great Value. Had to slightly grind one (of three) mounting hole to get it to fit. Quick shipper.

Fit 2007 Taurus SEL perfectly, though this car is a pain in the butt to get them in. Need to lower the engine cradle 2-3″ for more clearance to get the bottom of the strut into the knuckle.
