Ordered to replace one front coil on a 2008 Highlander. Super easy to replace the front 3 coils, but an extended project to get to the rear 3 coils. Check out YouTube for help. We almost gave up on the rear 3 due to difficulty in removing one particular bolt, but we got it in the end. Since it was such a hassle, we replaced all plugs at the same time for good measure. It was a good project to do with my son who drives that car.

I have broken several of the tabs on the coil connectors my 4Runner, but never felt like repairing. Well, I was working on a friends Camry and all 4 tabs broke when I removed the connectors. I felt now was the time, so I ordered the kit. Super nice and easy to use. Repaired the Camry and the 4Runner. excellent fit, quality and all the little bits if you run into trouble for a 100% repair.

The old connectors fell apart in my hand, exposing wires. the existing wires/terminals slipped right into the new connector. the connector fit and snapped on the Denso coil packs. Disconnected battery. However, it did not fix my cyl 6 misfire code. I am not brave enough to try to recrimp a new terminal on a wire. If you do recrimp, you will need a special crimping tool. Possibly a valve is the problem ? Engine, ECM or PCM got other issues? Sold Highlander with CES light on. Had 264,000 miles, it was time.

I have a 2004 Toyota Highlander 3.3 v6 the plugs for the coils disintegrated I use these and they fit absolutely perfect. It is very easy to do takes seconds to do each coil

Used these to replace broken factory shells and worn terminals on the coil connectors for my Volvo S80 V8. After a year in service — the replacements are working well, have not become loose or brittle, and the terminals have not loosened. Fortunately there is just enough slack in the OE harness that you can cut off old loose connectors at the base and re-terminate the wires on-car, then click them into a new shell alongside connectors that you slipped out of the old shell but were still good. You will need a crimp tool with correct die for crimping “weather-pak” terminals; just search for it. I comparison shopped for mine.
Pro tip – at a pick-and-pull junkyard you can get damaged wire harnesses off the same make (and maybe even model and year) vehicle as you’re working on. Then what you do to make up your own pigtails for your replacement connector is use short lengths of wire that you cut from that harness that are the same color and gauge as the wires you’re connecting to. Often at a pick-and-pull people leave parts of the engine harness behind when they pull an engine, for instance. Anyway – if you get wires that match to the originals, even though your pigtail might be connected to the harness back somewhere wrapped, when you’re looking at the wiring diagram you’re not confused as to which wire you’re looking at. Alternatively, if your pigtail varies, just get a printout of the wiring diagram and mark it up with the colors that do show your changes – store it in the car somewhere like in an envelope in the glove box or in the notebook with your other service records.
Update, March 2025: the replacements are still working well, have not become loose or brittle, and the terminals have not loosened. Re-terminating the wires in the harness on the engine worked out fine — be sure to use a fender liner or beach towel, or something, to drape over the fender or cowl you’ll be resting on while working on the wires so you don’t scuff it.
