This gasket worked as intended. The inner ring is a pliable metallic material that deforms to create a seal between the mating surfaces even if they are a little imperfect. I ordered the 2.25” gasket for use on a pipe with a 2” inner diameter. That did the job, but it might have been easier to align if I had ordered one size up. So measure you application carefully.
