I searched Google for “Phone Mounts for round/small car vents”. This item came up, and so far it works great for the price!! I didn’t want to damage my phone/case by attaching magnet with adhesive provided – I just put the magnet inside my case and it works great!! I extended the “hook” part and snapped a photo so you can see how thin it is/if it will fit in your vent.

Mercedes has a funny round air fan and no flat surface to install phone holder. This is the only holder that I can find that fits that round air fan hole and stay on it. The three feet with robber cushion is good to prevent the phone from rotating with the loose fan. There is no fan blade so the grip is a bit awkward but it works. The magnet is not big and strong enough for phone with a cover so I have to insert one of the metal came with it.
Edit: just realized adding that metal to my phone, can’t charge wireless anymore.

I’ve tried all sorts of vent-mounted phone holders, and they always fail. I don’t like using mounts that attach to the windshield, and unfortunately the dash/console setup of my cars don’t provide any good options for other surface mount options.
This mount has been great! It stays put! It doesn’t sag, shift, fall off, etc. Stays where I want it to stay, the clip and bottom supports prevent it from any kind of shifting or movement… even on the bumpiest roads. Magnet has been strong enough to hold my phone without any problems, although I do have a very thin protective cover. If you have a mounting plate under a thicker phone protector, it may not hold well.

I bought 4 of this item and works really well. The installation was pretty easy thanks to the hook and supporting hand. Altho, i had to return 2 of them item since it does fit with my ford focus and toyota matrix. The mount extruded far off which i hit my phone everytime i steer. I just wish the hook can be rotated. I also have a defected mount which the socket doesn’t stay sturdy and keeps my phone go down everytime i hit a speed bump. Other than that, they work great.

I bought this for my Countryman, the last magnetic vent clip I had had no support and Poe magnetic connection. Sometimes my phone fell off going over a bump.
This one is great, doesn’t flop around and I’m on Day #4 of MTTS ‘22 and my phone hasn’t bounced off at all!

The magnet is not as strong and the item doesn’t stay put. The old version I had from them did not move around once you attached it. This one moves around. It doesn’t tighten well. Disappointing.

If you’ve got an iPhone with Magsafe, look elsewhere. This holder won’t work for you.
If you’re like me, you think, “Cool! My phone will automatically attach to this magnetic holder, just like my other Magsafe holders/chargers.” But it doesn’t. The magnet on the holder is way too weak. It holds the phone for three seconds before your phone drops to the ground.
“But great!” you say, “They include a metallic shim you can attach to your phone or case, and that will make the magnet hold onto the phone better!” And you’d be right. It does. But then it blocks the Magsafe charging when you get home and throw your phone on your charger. It won’t charge whatsoever.
So you’re screwed either way. I’m returning mine immediately.
