This ended up being nothing more than a port plug in the replacement radiator I had to put into my car. Surprisingly, the original failed radiator had no low level sensor port. It was completely sealed from the manufacturer. The new radiator was not so equipped and required something other than the flimsy shipping port cover. The locking and retaining bail appeared a whole lot lighter than I would or could appreciate. As I had no original to compare it to, (other than the port shipping cover) I reluctantly installed this sensor into place. After all of the necessary heat and pressure checks, all appears good to go. As for actual level sensing performance, I cannot comment on this operational capability as it is not used in my vehicle (2003 Buick Century Custom with 3.1l engine). Don’t know how or why that was done, that’s the way I got it from the original owner.

Works fine, install was easy & no problems with oversize O-rings which plague many Coolant sensors sold for this application. I paid three times as much for one that didn’t work & was very difficult to install! Time will tell how long this one lasts.

I have a 2001 chevy impala with the infamous check coolant level low light, i had already had to replace it once over a year ago, with another brand. It then became an issue again. So i bought this one. Low and behold when i went to replace the old one still installed, it was literally fused to the radiator. I had to break it apart in pieces. once i got all the pieces out i put this new one in. The key i did this time that i did not do last time was to lube up the O rings with coolant prior to installing it. It has been a week now and not once has the coolant level low light come on and i am saved from the ever ringing alarm coming on and going off and coming back on again. sweet little baby jesus has answered my prayers

The price is right on this sensor so purchased new one but I would like to have it last longer than 18 months. Luckily this part is easy to install. Time will tell

Product appears quite similar to OEM. Part is easy to replace, having the same meta clip as original and basically just presses in. Lost about two cups of coolant into a strategically place catch pan. I doubt this will last more than a few years, but for the price it’s an easy choice, as I doubt a factory replacement will be different or better.

Remove by letting the car cool down to a temperature you don’t mind having splash on your face. Then continue an hour later by removing coolant cap slowly and carefully, since you didn’t let it cool down enough (I may be projecting here).

Then completely remove the battery from the car.

Unhook the sensor cable that’s under the sensor by catching your fingernail under the clip and pushing down. Should remove easily.

pry the metal clip out and away from the failed sensor, which is located just to the side of the battery on the back side of the radiator. Use a slim screwdriver for this. Then push the sensor out towards the engine using a seesaw motion top then bottom then side then top etc. it’ll come out.

Then see the gush of coolant and realize your pan is in the wrong spot. Quicky move the pan just as the coolant stops leaking.

Then replace the sensor by pushing this new one in, plug side down, harder and harder until you hear the audible click and feel the click as the metal clamp clips into place.

Plug the sensor power plug back in.

Rinse the interior of the engine bay whereever coolant washed over something.

Coolant is corrosive, if you have an old car the last thing you want is salt sitting places you can’t see it and that don’t get soaked with rain.

    Replace battery.

Top off coolant. Replace cap. Pat self on back. Rinse driveway where you spilled coolant. Have a beer about it.

The price was 80% cheaper than other vendors. As a prime member, shipping was free. The part worked great with no issues. I’m very pleased with this product and experience. I also received it a day earlier than projected.

Installed on vehicle while doing a radiator swap. Started my car up and was leaking coolant… When i check to see where the fluids were leaking from it was from this product. Leaking from the housing of the product. Waste of money waste of time i just put the old one back in filled back up the coolant that was missing now do this product failing.
