Unfortunately when this was tightened sufficiently so it would not rotate on the handlebars, the throttle would also not rotate. If I backed the bolts off until it was just snug, then it would rotate, but of course that creates a dangerous situation.
Bottom line is the machining is poor, or in this case I guess we should say casting. The tube itself rotates freely on the handlebars. There were a few burrs, but easily touched up with some 400 grit sandpaper.
This is one of those things where if you ordered two or three of them you would probably find one good one. It’s just the quality control is pretty awful.
I like the little lock, but it’s pretty touchy. I think they should have used some type of a plastic bushing, instead of metal, and the action would have been smoother. It will lock the throttle securely though, but not so sure I would want to use it on a regular basis for cruise control. Still a nice feature some of the other ones don’t offer.
I think this definitely has potential, and I think if you got one where the tolerances were correct this could work okay. I just wasn’t very lucky, so this one is going back. I”m not going to bother to get a replacement as my time is valuable too.
