How can I fairly evaluate an oil filter?
I can’t see what’s going on inside of it.
It has always been my belief to buy good oil and a cheap filter. You’re only going to throw it away next oil change. An oil filter is designed to do exactly what it’s name implies and that’s to filter your oil. If you keep your oil changed on a regular basis there shouldn’t be an accumulation of foreign particles in your oil. If there are foreign particles in your oil, it’s the oil filter’s job to catch those particles and keep them from circulating in your oil. Buy good quality oil and the cheapest filter you can find. They all work and you’re only going to throw it away next oil change. As far as the things that Amazon suggests I rate it on such as “Easy to remove” that depends on where the filter is located on your vehicle. Some are easier to get to than others. As far as one brand being easier to remove than another brand, they’re all the same.
As for evaluating it on mileage, like I previously mentioned, I can’t see inside of it. Contrary to popular belief it’s not necessary to change your oil every 3000 miles. People who do that are only wasting oil. I change my oil every 5 to 6 thousand miles and have never had an oil related engine failure.

Seems like a quality product. I’ve installed items from this manufacturer with no problems but decided to return it. I try to save money but still get a quality product. These products are made in a country with poor quality control standards. I just can’t take a chance on it.

Look a bit short and actually, have not used the filter. Not quite happy with the appearance, but it could be just me.
