Couldn’t be much easier: open the clips on the old strut, remove the old strut, snap new strut into place. Great fit and function, and they look so much nicer than the ones that they replaced. This makes them both Easy, AND… well, “Peasey”? 🤔

Snapped right in place! Work great, fast shipping, would buy from again!

They work great! Watched YouTube video to learn how to replace old lifts! I’m an old woman, but it was pretty easy. Clips are pretty tight on new ones, used a rubber mallet to pop it in the hood knob. Put these on 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Checked prices at several local auto parts stores and was shocked at how much they wanted for them.

This is the second time I have had to replace the hood lift cartridge. I have to try to remember to open the hood once parked in my garage, so the internal pressure is minimized. Since the lift gate gets exercised regularly, I have only had to replace them once. Can’t say anything about durability, since I just installed it. Note that I only swapped out one, as that seems to be enough to keep the hood open, making it very inexpensive and have a spare for the next time, though I will have to try opening the hood out in the freezing weather to see if there is still enough lift.

These are tuff and stout. Serioussly, And do the job very well for my 99 jeep grand cherokee. These replaced an old worn out pair now the hood springs up, almost on its own, and stays in place….with minimal effort with ease. Highly recommend if your looking for cost effective decent quality These are it.
