Would recommend getting an “updated style” kit instead with the guides the Gen 3 2.0t’s use. I Only used the Balance shaft guides/chain and camshaft/crankshaft chain from the kit. Intake side guide didn’t align with the guide bolt holes and made correct installation difficult so I had to buy a separate guide. You get what you pay for wouldn’t compare it to Genuine VW/Audi but it got the job done.

F*** VW TIMING CHAIN TENSIONERS! That said, this kit has held up for the past 6 months just fine. By far, one of the most frustrating repairs you can do on the GTI is this. Definitely wasn’t going to pay OEM cost for the same kit to blow my motor up if it failed.
