Bought a set for my truck payed over 1200 After 6 months they are leaking. Waste of money stay away

The included/attached nut plates for the lower mount were not the same thread pitch as my stock bolts, had to reuse my originals from the old struts. Had new bolts been provided this would be the perfect product for those with failed Magnaride struts. Ride quality is superb, hope it lasts!

Product arrived and as mentioned on other reviews it didn’t line up easily. Once installed worked well enough; however both have completely failed in less than a year. Willing to try again if I can find a way to get warranty claim, but so far not good. Need the Amazon warranty liaison for warranty replacement.
Received warranty set and they also failed in less than 6 months.

2015 Cadillac Escalade premium. Took about 45 minutes per side. Perfect fit. My old struts were so bad I forget how high my front end should be sitting looks better now but I have to realign her.

These were a perfect replacement for my 2016 Yukon Denali with Z95 Magneride Suspension.
They were a perfect fit and were the exact length as the OEMs I replaced. After much research, I chose these because they have the magnetic fluid rather than tricking the system to think it is magnectic fluid. Too soon to tell about the longevity of the struts, but the ride has improved significantly and the truck sits 2 inches higher than the worn struts. The electric connectors were exact and I did not receive any error codes. All very positive !
Here is my ‘but’ and why I did not give a rating of 5 stars. There are a couple of issues I had to deal with that you might want to be prepared for. First, I had to rotate the piston to get the bottom ears of the strut to line up with the holes. Not a problem but be aware. Secondly, the supplied hardware is garbage. The nuts on the strut bottom ears bent and twisted when I went to install the bolts. I ended up transferring the old OEM nuts to the new struts to continue the install. As a result of this, I also decided to use the OEM bolts on the top of the struts because they were bigger and beefier than the nuts supplied.
Hopefully, this is not a reflection on the overall product build .. Dorman says in thier advertising that the piston and seals are “better than OEM”. Time will tell.
UPDATED: After 9 months and 8,000 miles both shocks started leaking large blobs of grease at the top of the shock. Appears the seal blew out on both shocks. This is totally unacceptable and I now consider it a waste of time and money. Look elsewhere.

So far So good. I replaced my ac delco oem products with these dorman’s and my 2015 escalade is back to riding like it was when I bought it brand new. They went on perfectly with no problems with alignment. It took about 35 minutes each side. Saved me from paying $2500 at the dealership. Thank you Dorman for a quality well made product.

I just did my Escalade Caddy last May 2023 and now I went to Cadillac dealer bot front structs bad and they are changing again. I am disappointed in this product that I spent last May but would not recommmend off brand parts only lasting short time.

Installed with ease on 2016 escalade. Started leaking 10 months in. I had to replace them again. They’re not good value.

Edit (11/7/24): Driver side strut now has a blown seal and leaked ferrous mag fluid. Squeaks like crazy now too. Rating changed from 2 stars to 1 star.
I can’t believe Dorman puts their name on something that comes with such poor quality mounting hardware. Dorman must have given the Chinese nut factory instructions to make the most bare minimum fasteners possible. As mentioned in another review, the lower mounting nuts are made from the softest metal currently known to mankind. They twist and warp with the slightest torque from hand tools (don’t even consider putting power to them). I ended up replacing three of the four (between both sides) nuts with regular 10mm nylock nuts. The upper mounting nuts are nearly as terrible. I just reused the much beefier GM nuts and added some loctite since they’re “technically” one time use. You’ll also need to use a hefty pry bar and channel locks to get the bottom mount perfectly aligned. It’s not the most awful thing ever, but for the price of these things, it’s incredibly disappointing. All this just to do a proper replacement job without cheaping out with a passive magneride bypass replacement.
