Needed to replace the driver’s door latch as the one in my newly purchased used Mercury Mariner would make noise but would not actually lock or unlock the door.
Received the part and it was the correct one. Installed it and it works perfectly.
No drama – well worth paying a little more to make sure I get the actual part I needed so I didn’t have to do this work twice.

we ordered for the specific vehicle, but had to mickey mouse a spacer to tighten up the mechanism so that it would work.

The Dorman Lock Actuator/Latch fit perfectly and other than having to transfer over a few extra pieces from the original, it installed easily. So far, it has worked every time with the remote or inside button. Can’t ask for more than that, since the OEM one didn’t.

Spent hours installing it only to find out it’ll lock, but not unlock. Sending it back and will try again since there don’t seem to be many alternate options
Edit/Add: Figured out the door ajar sensor was also bad.
Edit/Add: Figured out the failure to lock of just the driver lock can also be caused by a relay or logic failure in the Smart Junction Box (SJB), not always by the actuator itself. The driver door actuator has it’s own circuit which triggers on the first unlock push, with the other doors triggering on the second button push. Still have to return the unit due to the door ajar sensor not working.

Works just fine for 2007 Ford Escape XLT. Old one still work but started to chatter, 1st just when locking but then when unlocking also. So I changed it before it failed completely.
