I spent two weeks trying to program several kays to my GMC 98 step side. I bought the truck with just one key and it was totally worn out. This doorman unit came in and bolted right in. They even sent the much needed bit for the hard torx screws. I went through the cycle and the baby cranked right up. Took areal load off me and well worth the money
Word of advice, Get jumper cables and hook the red lead to the ground and take the positive loose from the battery. Shield the battery from the connections with cardboard or anything non conductive and hook the other end of the red of the jumper cables to the red wire coming from the starter. You have to take it off the battery first now! Let it set for 5 minutes and it will drain all the power from the ECM
If any doubt YTube it. Drain the ECM module of it’s memory. Then go through the programming sequence of your vehicle.

I ordered this to replace the Ignition Housing on my late father’s truck, after it was stolen and the ignition got blown out with a screwdriver. I already had a new ignition and key, but the housing was damaged. Ordered this in hopes it would work, and it did…perfectly. Full Disclosure, I did not install it, my mechanically inclined super helpful neighbor did, so I can’t comment on that…but it didn’t seem like it took to long to put on.

Part has hall sensor with resistor that sends signal to pass lock module that enables fuel system for my 1999 Tahoe. I have been battling intermittent no start for years ( start and stall, security light stays on for ten minutes ) After discovering relearn procedure car would start after 30 minutes. You will need thin walled e4 torx socket and wheel puller to replace. After replacing no more problems.

Wondered why was such a great price, is because the insides,i.e. plastic parts (guts) do not come with it…and that was the part that was broken on our truck , the little round plastic part inserted, that allows your vehicle switch to start the vehicle. Sent back as this part was not the broken part, and prob never would be. Dealerships want $200 plus for this part, that includes the ‘guts’. Sent back with no problems whatsoever though, for full refund, shipping included! That was appreciated! Still looking, for the ‘guts’.
