The bending matches the factory near perfect even after hand straightening the shipping bend. The new ones went in way easier than the old one came out (no rust, no friction I guess). Just be careful, as the threads have no taper, and even though I though I started it square on (by hand) it ended up cross threading and stripping out the rear T. I’ve heard some people had the same problem with the ABS box, but luckily I didn’t. Great set, very fair price, would definitely recommend

This review is for the Dorman 919146 Brake Line
    I used these on a 2005 silverado 2500HD
They were bent a little different but they still worked perfect. They even tell you they are bent a little different. I did a lot of homework before installing these and I had no issues at all. Some ppl say they had to raise the cab of the truck so they could tighten the new lines. I did not raise the cab. I took pictures and wrote down exactly how the old lines were run and which clips they were attached too. Then I cut the old lines next to the ABS module. I used a deep well socket to remove the old lines. I ran the lines to the master cylinder first then the front brake lines. That took about three hours, but I was really taking my time. Others got the whole job done in three hours. At this point the brake lines are all attached in the front of the truck but I have not connected them to the ABS module yet. Now for the rear line, this one was different because it runs right between the frame and the gas tank. The easiest way I found to do this was to tilt the bed of the truck toward the passenger side. There are a total of 8 bolts on my truck bed. I removed all four from the drivers side, then loosened all four on the passenger side. I did not remove the bolts on the passenger side. (This will help keep it from sliding off) Then I took a 4×4 (fence post) about 3 1/2ft long, lifted the drivers side of the bed, stuck the 4×4 on the ground up to the bottom of the bed and held it up. I placed another 4×4 about 2ft long flat on the frame of the truck under the bed for precautionary measures. If the bed fell, it would land on the 2ft 4×4 and not on my arms. At this point the rear brake line can very easily be removed and replaced with the new line. I did cut the old brake line so it was easy to remove. After installing the rear brake line I installed the two lines to the rear wheels. Very easy to do the rear wheels, they only took about 10 mins for both lines. I was able to reuse all the old clips, none of my clips were broke. After they were all installed I set the bed back down, rebolted it and then started to put the brake lines back into the ABS module. All the lines connect into the ABS toward the front of the truck. So when your looking at where all the lines connect into the ABS, you looking to the rear of the truck. I started tightening the lines from the top right of the ABS then worked my way down to the bottom left. By doing it this way, I did not have to raise the cab. The reason most people raise the cab is so their flare wrench will fit. In my case, I had no brake fluid at all so it didn’t matter about all the lines being off. Some people replace one brake line at a time and tighten them back down one at a time. If you do it one at a time, you will not have enough room to tighten the brake lines into the ABS because the bottom of the cab is only about 2 to 3 inches from the ABS module so you can’t turn your flare wrench.
Once all the lines were installed and tightened I filled the master cylinder, bleed the brakes the old fashion way until there was no more air.
Here is the tricky part. If you replaced the lines from your master cylinder or you were out of brake fluid or both, you WILL have air in the ABS module that you CANNOT get out by just bleeding the brakes. You have to cycle the ABS module with a GM Tech 2 scan tool while bleeding the brakes to get all the air out of the ABS. OR, the following,,,bleed the brakes the normal way (Google bleed brakes) get all the air out, then take your truck to a gravel/dirt road or a grassy field (don’t get stuck), get a little speed, enough to make the ABS kick in when you hit the brakes. This will make the ABS cycle, then go back and rebleed your brakes. You may have to do this more than once. Hopefully you will have a firm brake pedal after this. I went through a lot of brake fluid so have plenty on hand just in case. OR, you can take it to someone to bleed the brakes. As always, do your own homework before replacing anything. My suggestions worked for me and I was able to replace all the lines myself. I did have help bleeding the brakes and I used a scan tool to cycle the ABS. I also had to drop the front skid plate to replace the RF line. Four bolts and it was off. Hopefully this helps a little. If you not sure about something, ask for help or please just have a professional replace your brake lines. Do not attempt if you are unsure about replacing them. Make sure you can do this properly and safely. I attached some pictures. I also showed the old line that rusted through. It was the rear line between the gas tank and the frame. As always, be safe!

While no brake work can be classified as easy, the online directions show you how to make this huge task as easy as possible. Not many installers are doing this while the truck bed is removed which made half the work for the rear brake line, while standing up, I could also see that the brake line is pretty darn close to the factory line with the correct fittings, which is hugely time saving, as a retired mechanic. Would buy again if I ever bought another 99-06 GMC truck, For future use put full mud flaps on the front wheel wells as well the rears, to prevent a premature line deterioration and save your rocker panels at the same time.

The quality is lacking. The bends are not exact, nor do they follow the factory lines. The fittings are an issue, (One of them was incorrect, resulting in damage to the abs pump) the only fix for this is the removal and replacement of the fittings already on the lines. As time was not a luxury to wait for a replacement set, the technician had to rework the lines to be correct adding additional cost well above and beyond the cost of the kit and labor.
The lines were installed by an ASE certified, GM factory trained technician. I would NOT recommend this product.

Silverados have the crappiest lines on them of any vehicle I’ve ever worked on. After stock set #3 on my 04 2500, I was extremely happy to find this pre bent stainless set at such a low price. They fit well and will (hopefully) be the last set I ever have to replace on this truck.

I’ve installed a few of these, and they always work great. Remove your splash shields, remove your bumpers, even remove you bed if it’s applicable, and you’ll have an easy installation experience.

Everything fits good and looks good, I received everything except the Driver Side rear line, it came with the passenger side rear line but not Driver side.
