I bought this cable about 7 years ago, but just installed it just about a year ago. I rarely drive the car and have only had to open the hood (including servicing) less than a dozen times. The last time I used it the plastic handle came off in my hand. I had to use pliers to pull on the cable.
Now I’m stuck with finding an alternative way to pull on the cable because I’m not about to go through the installation process (which takes about an hour) just for another handle to break off.
I wish there was a metal handle solution.

After reading a lot of the reviews I was hesitant to buy this brand of cable. When I received the part. It matched up to the original almost exactly. Install was quick and easy. (Definitely check out the 1aauto.com video on YouTube.) The guide wire will save you a lot of headache. I tested it many times and it felt very secure. I installed it on a car that I was getting ready to sell, so I wanted to make sure it would be reliable. I have sold the car so I won’t be able to speak on longevity.

Write size and length. No issues. Most difficult part was routing the new cable through the firewall. Attaching the end to the hood latch was a little tricky as well; not a lot of room to work.
