I recently purchased this fuel level sensor/sending unit for my 2004 Buick Century It arrived quickly to my doorstep in the afternoon 2 days after ordering.
Normally, I won’t start on any projects after 2p.m. however I decided to take a look at the job. Next thing you know I was taking the old one out and I was going to stop there & finish the job the next day. Well I decided to go all the way as the new fuel level sensor required some assembly ,the job went back together fairly easy, and I’m not an auto mechanic.
The good news is , it works great !!! It’s nice to have a working gas guage again and not have to remember to reset the trip odometer.
The price I paid was fair & I’m very happy in Michigan !

Claims to fit a 2001 Buick Century. It does NOT fit the groove on the fuel pump body. It is by no means a “direct fit”. You can *sort of* make it fit but it’s just kinda hanging there, sketchy at best. Especially for being surrounded by gas just dangling. It also was broken on arrival. There is supposed to be 2 sets of “finger” like metal strands that measure resistance along along the “C” shaped dial (see picture). 1 set of fingers is completely missing so it won’t read anything – ever. It’s super awesome and fun to do all the labor and get everything installed just for the part to not work, and to have to pull everything back out, and find that you were sent a broken part. A waste of a ton of effort and hours worth far more than the 20 some dollar part. I’m highly irritated if you can’t tell.

I needed this to fix my 2001 Buick Regal. The fuel sender has a trap door so I didn’t have to pull the gas tank…SCORE! The sending unit installed easily and seems to be accurate. SCORE!!

Replaced this item, and now the fuel gauge is working properly in my 2003 Impala. I wish I would have replaced it sooner instead of tracking millage between filling the tank. On 2003 Impala can access fuel tank by pulling carpet back in trunk and removing cover, so no need to drop fuel tank.

Install was not as bad as I thought. Had to remove the back seat- bottom lifts out, for the back there are two bolts then lifts up and forward to unhook. Fold the insulation up and there’s your fuel pump access. You can just go to the back of the trunk but it’s too cramped for me. There are videos for the rest so the only other thing I’ll mention is, once you get the pump out, on the uppermost connector, I had to put a small screwdriver tip into it to get it released. Take a close look and you’ll see where it should go. Also, it was hard to get the resistor part out. You can’t just squeeze the sides. There is another small part that slides in there to secure it. You’ll see!!

It actually works I didn’t take a photo but this is coming from someone recent in 2024 I own a 2003 Chevy impala and I put this in and the gas gauge started to work again worth the 20 dollars
