Op.2010 –
This is a great product. This is the blue spring update that doesn’t stick and is stouter. Buy only this one for all the 6.0L
Plentiful Endeavors –
While is was able to use the orifice springs and gaskets the housing was another story… no i was not able to use the New housing as the threads for the fuel fitting were not fully Cut… I was madder than a cow with mad cow disease… but i had to get the Truck back together so i applied all the new seals to the old housing after i cleaned it up and was on my way… this total lack of care and quality control turned what would have been a 30-40 min job into an additional 40 min affair as i tried to get the fitting to set but it would only go half way… Dorman DO BETTER stop out sourcing to China or watch your machinist this should never happen to a customer… we should never be left in the situations where we are only able to use part of the product we bought
Christina –
The housing threads are no good and an o-ring is the wrong size but the other stuff is good. Not to chard to do. I used the old housing and 1 old seal but other than that seems to be good.
Linda McMurray –
I have a 2004 Ford F350 2WD pickup truck with a stock 6.0 diesel engine that I use to tow a 5-ton trailer. In 2010, I installed a Ford OEM Blue Spring Fuel Pressure Regulator kit. In 2013, I installed an Edge CTS to monitor engine function, exhaust gas temperature, oil pressure, and fuel pressure.
During June of 2019, I noticed a small fuel leak that I did not find until late September. On 04NOV2019, I purchased the Dorman 904-239 Fuel Injection Pressure Regulator for Select Ford Models kit (Amazon Order # 113-5029514-7705814) and installed the kit on 24NOV2019. As a point of interest, the spring in the Dorman kit is painted blue as is the spring in the EOM regulator kit.
During and after installation, I encountered and resolved the following issues:
1. The small O-ring that that resides in the outside end of the fuel line adapter fitting (also called “fuel line connector” or “fuel return line fitting”) was missing or replaced with an oversized O-ring that could not be used. I reinstalled the O-ring installed in 2010.
2. As soon as I began tightening the Torx head screws supplied in your kit to compress the keyhole shaped O-ring in the pressure regulator cover, the head twisted off one of the screws. I removed all of the supplied screws, the pressure regulator cover, the broken screw using my fingers, and reinstalled the pressure regulator cover using the screws installed in 2010.
3. The result of installing your kit is that the hot idle fuel pressure dropped from an average of 60 PSI to an average of 54 PSI. Additionally, the fuel pressure drops to 51.5 under moderate acceleration (manifold pressure 12 PSI) without a load. According to everything I have read, the hot idle fuel pressure after installing a new OEM Regulator Kit (3C3Z-9T517-AG) should be about 60 PSI. For this engine, the minimum fuel pressure UNDER ANY OPERATING CONDITIONS is 45 PSI. On this engine, fuel pressure below 45 PSI causes injector failure.
I am disappointed that the O-ring supplied with your kit did not replace the O-ring in the outside end of the fuel line adapter fitting on my truck. I am upset that the screws supplied with your kit failed during installation. I am really upset that the result of installing your kit is a significant drop in fuel pressure.
Finally, working on this vehicle is a real pain for me. Now I have to get another regulator kit, remove your kit, and install the new kit before I can tow my trailer.
I returned the kit for refund and ordered an OEM Blue Spring kit.
