The part number and the description don’t match Hyundai’s. this part is for my passenger rear window. May be universal but the drivers side has a different part number.
This part worked great and went in with ease.

The cut outs for the wiring harness are not like the OEM part which is currently no longer available.

This rear passenger side power window regulator is definitely not a direct replacement fit tor the original it is supposed to replace (2009 Hyundai Sonata GLS). The good news: the speaker cutout is accurate. The regulator motor cutout is accurate. Overall size and dimensions are accurate. But…the motor is smaller in size and does not appear to be as sturdy as the original. The wiring harness snap holes on original are oblong. On this Dorman they are round. This means modifying the size of the holes (4) so that they will accommodate the snap-in holders that hold the wiring harness in place. The pop rivets that hold the bracket that you mount the door panel grab handle to are loose. Like wobble around loose. Like you can flick the bracket around with your fingers loose. This makes it impossible to line up the screw holding the door handle to the interior bracket – because the interior bracket is loose, and will not line up properly with the door panel. So, you cannot attach the door panel to the bracket that’s supposed to hold it in place. The access hole that allows you to reach the interior screw of the window glass grip to loosen and tighten the glass to the regulator is considerably smaller than the access hole on the original part. This means that the rubber weather seal that covers the access hole on the original will not attach to this Dorman replacement – it is way too large. Although I’ve been happy with Dorman products in the past, this rear passenger side power window regulator – and the rear Dorman driver side power window regulator that preceded it last year – required unexpected modifications in order to make them fit. The loose rivets on the door panel attachment bracket on the regulator are just sloppy, and a source of immense frustration. AND…these are now costing double and triple what they cost only a few years ago. All in all, I am not pleased and will look elsewhere in the future if I need to do this again.
UPDATE: This window regulator failed exactly one year later. Dorman says it has a limited lifetime warranty. Called Dorman, they said since it was sold/shipped by Amazon, I have to contact Amazon for a replacement. They transferred me to Amazon’s third party warranty department, who verified the details and said they would authorize Amazon to send me a warranty replacement. I would receive an email confirmation from Amazon that a replacement item was being provided at no charge. That email never came. Today I spent 34 minutes on the line with an Amazon CSR, who could not find the order even when I provided the order date, full order number, and order amount. He kept asking me for the last four digits of the order number, which apparently match a different order for a different item, a different date, and a different amount. He put me on hold numerous times and came back and said he couldn’t find the order other than the separate order that happened to have the same last four digits in the order number, even though I gave the full order number, date, and amount repeatedly – reading it directly from my pulled-up Amazon Order history. 34 minutes into the call, as he was about to place me on hold again, he began breaking up, and the call was dropped. I imagine he walked into the kitchen where the signals not so good. I did not receive any indication that an attempt was made to reconnect. So…I had to start from the beginning with another CSR. 43 minutes
and numerous holds on the phone with her. She couldn’t get past the fact that “the last four” matched a different order, and kept repeatedly referring to that order even though I corrected her numerous times. She eventually asked me to pull up my Amazon Order history and read the order information back to her… which I had been doing the entire time. After a long time going round and round, she suddenly had an A-Ha moment. “Sir, this order is from 2020. The return window closed in November.”
I HAVEN’T ASKED FOR A RETURN. It’s a (previously authorized) warranty replacement! Can I speak to your supervisor? Ok…waiting for supervisor……waiting for supervisor…..waiting for supervisor….waiting for supervisor.
Amazon’s CSR customer service was always outstanding. Unfortunately I learned today that is no longer the case. The limited lifetime warranty offered by Dorman is effectively useless if the customer can’t access it.

I don’t want to mislead anyone about this product.. don’t get me wrong it looks really well put together but it wasn’t actually like the original manufactured part by Hyundai. I had to drill out some holes on the panel a little bit bigger to accommodate the wiring. Also in regards to installation I didn’t know I had to have the rear passenger switch hooked to the electrical for it to work. Just keep in mind all the wire connections need to be plugged in order for there to be an electric connection to the motor. I had the electrical for the motor plugged in but the control switch in the rear passenger side was not therefor it didn’t work at first.

If you are planning to install this yourself, you need the ability to rivet. But fits perfectly. Works like a dream.
