Only thing it is missing, is the HAND attached, to do the installation!
You probably think you need special knowledge or tools, but, it is a simple job!
I use a small drill to pull the old rivets. Full job, along with the loong breaks and interruptions
took about 2 hours. Really, there is about 35 minutes of “work”…
The low price is GREAT! Beats all the local stores who think I would pay them almost triple to
let them ORDER it! Heck, I can order it! And, save LOTS!

Perfect replacement. I had already replaced this part with a different brand and it broke after a year. This one sounds much better and stronger than the other brand, so I have much higher hopes. The various plug adapters was nice so I didn’t have to cut and splice my old connector.

Bottom line up-front — I’m completely satisfied this product. I used the 742-264 to replace the motor on the front/driver side of my 1997 Ford Explorer — I also used the 742-265 to replace the motor on the front/passenger side . I’m the original owner and have had the driver-side window repaired three times during the life of my vehicle and as a result, I’m not a big fan of the OEM motors — they should last more than 5-years. So I decided to try this Dorman product since it was half the price of a re-manufactured OEM and had a better warranty. Form, fit and function were spot-on as a direct replacement – note: I did not replace the regulators, just the motors. One of the other reviewers indicated these motors were louder than the originals — that was not my experience, but perhaps I had grown accustomed to the growling of the older motors in their death throes. I purchased through Amazon based on the reviews and I VERY MUCH appreciated their “This fits your vehicle” feature of the website. On a final note to other DIY’ers, there are no instructions included in the packaging. I would recommend researching the installation prior to ordering.

UPDATE 8/31/22 – The window motor has worked flawlessly for over 2 years so apparently 2 bolts is sufficient to hold it in place properly (one of my installation issues).
Original Review:
This Dorman window lift motor did the job and appears well made and is heavy duty like all Dorman products. I have delayed reviewing to allow it to be used for a couple of months. However, it is not a 100% compatible replacement for an ’89 Bronco II. The original lift motor had 3 bolts on the side and 2 bolts on the rear which attached it to a brace bolted to the bottom of the door. The Dorman replacement only has the 3 bolt holes on the side – BUT, only the top 2 bolt holes lined up with the pre-existing holes with the lower bolt hole hanging in space – could not even drill a new hole because there was no framework or mounting metal to use. Since the original lift motor was specifically designed with no variations in mounting bolt holes (based on the specific model number), Dorman needs to rethink their design of this replacement.
It remains to be seen if the 2 bolts securing the lift motor are sufficient over years of use.
The lift motor comes with a set of cables to match various power connections – very nice. However, the connection that fit my application was too short by about 6 inches. I had to strip off wrapping tape of the original wiring harness in the door to bring the lift motor cord back to the provided connection. I suspect that the Dorman designers did not consider Bronco II with power door locks as well as power windows because the wiring harness contained both and separated under the lock.
I gave this a 4 rating because of the misaligned bolt hole as the wiring harness issue was easily overcome.
