This is a genuine dorman aftermarket replacement part. A direct fit, plug and play that worked first time. Seems like a good replacement for a very good price.

The product works well. There were a few bolts I could use that were not included and a couple of bolts included I didn’t need. The biggest problem was getting the door pane back on. several of the plastic clips broke and I had to search for replacements. Ironically they were easy to find at the local Ace hardware.

Local shop wanted $435 to replace. I did it myself. It was easy.

Well now I know how to fix a disabled power window (assuming most power windows are similar). This part fits and works for the 1999 Plymouth Voyager for which it was purchased, and installation went fairly trouble-free. I found complete, photo-illustrated instructions on the Internet. The part includes replacement body panel clips. However, the clips were not the right type for this vehicle. They were too small. The OEM clips are two-part–a circular base (female) which fits into the opening on the door panel, and the stud (male) which fits into the designated clip on the panel, and the stud is supposed to click into the base. Of course, the consumer can’t tell that the clips are actually two pieces until the time comes to pop off a body panel. Do a search on amazon for the right clips. The Chrysler OEM part no. is #6505292AA. Anyway, the regulator and motor fit just right and even included plugs on the regulator cable that runs under the motor to fit into openings in the door panel to hold the cable steady. The biggest humbug about a disabled power window is whether the failure occurs with the window down or up, and what do you do in the meantime until the part arrives.

I walked out to my Grand Caravan the other day to find the driver side window down (very strange since I know it was up the last time I drove it) and when I tried to get the window to go up, there was a strange grinding sound inside the door. After taking apart the door, I found the cable that connects the motor to the regulator completely unwrapped and tangled.
I called around and found that replacing the motor was going to cost AT LEAST $400. This package cost me around $60 – a significant savings.
Getting the inside door facing, latch release, and power control panel off is a non-trivial task. As expected, I broke most of the small plastic clips which hold the interior panel to the door. Taking the old motor and regulator out was easy (for the Caravan, you need the right size star (T) bit). I opened the box for the new part and immediately found a VERY nice surprise – Dorman had included with the motor and regulator all new bolts (including the strange rubber-wrapped nuts that hold the motor to the door frame) and a complete set of replacement panel clips. I have read enough reviews of products like this from other manufacturers to know this is not standard procedure! It made the install so much easier!!!!
To install the regulator in the door takes patience and some flexibility – you have to get everything lined up just right to get the long bars through the small holes in the door. But from there, it was just a matter of replacing the bolts, reapplying the soundproofing sheet (had to use tape to hold it in place since it wasn’t sticky enough to hold on it’s own), and putting the interior panel back in place.
I’m relatively handy when it comes to fixing our cars, but I’ve never tackled replacing a window motor before. Total time to do the repair was about 2 hours.
If I ever have to order a window motor again, you can be sure that I’m going to buy the motor and regulator package (not just the motor) and I will DEFINITELY be buying from Amazon/Dorman again!

The fit was excellent, and the quality appears to be equal to to the original. The box even includes some replacement door panel pins if you break some during disassembly. Take pictures as you disassemble the door and it will be relatively simple job.

Delivery was fast and the installation was easy … once I gave up and got my mechanic to do it. 🙂 I am very pleased with everything. Thanks.

If you are the kind of guy that repairs your own car you’ll know that buying aftermarket (non-OEM) parts can sometimes be a bit of a gamble. Holes drilled in the wrong place a missing bracket, thinner metal, any/it all can happen if you aren’t careful about what you buy. This Dorman window regulator was about as close to OEM as an aftermarket part can get and more than 2/3rds less expensive than OEM. I could have bought cheaper mind you, by half the Dorman price, but frankly, all of the extra cheap regulators looked the part (no pun intended). The Dorman installed back into the door without a hitch and they even included the plastic door panel clips that sometimes break when removing the door panels for access. They also included the motor mount bolts (nylon!) but I declined to use them for my steel originals. Also, the Dorman channel mounting bolts looked to be plated with Dacromet for better than OEM rust resistance. All-in-all a good purchase that arrived next day. Perfect. And parts suppliers, please note this: We car guys don’t want the cheapest part we can get our hands on. We want to save money with good value. This Dorman aftermarket part was good value.
