A family member’s van had the driver window stop working. They taped the window in place and drove the car like that for a while. I ordered this part and replaced it per the online directions (really pretty easy to do). Then the passenger window stopped working a short time later. I bought an additional one and replaced it as well. Both of these units installed very easily and appear to be of high quality.

Watch a YouTube video if you haven’t done this before. I drilled out the plastic rivets that hold the motor since they give you new ones. You will need a Torx 30 if you don’t have one and in 1/4 drive makes it easier. Overall install took me a little over an hour. If you haven’t done window regulators before it will take you longer.

I’m fairly handy and this was quite a bit of a challenge to install in my opinion just because of the design of my Chrysler Town and Country driver’s door and the access allowed it was quite a stretch to get it to fit in but once in it works flawlessly and I saw a couple online YouTube videos that definitely helped what the installation process I recommend you use them too. Otherwise a great value for the money and very pleased with the results.

The whole process is difficult; I would recommend having a buddy standing by unless you have three hands. Works great, but be careful with the power window switches; they are kind of fragile. Have not gotten around to putting the door panel back on, still works great. With panel off be careful of the lock mechanism, it can hit the window when lowering. Great price, but labor intensive; dealer cost can be up to 100 bucks to do what you can do. No special tools needed, just patience.

But be careful; the Amazon search engine will bring up all kinds of wrong parts. Go to Dorman or Autozone or some other website to get the actual Dorman part number, otherwise you might end up with a right side rear Jeep window mechanism or something. Many ways for this to go wrong. Amazon’s search engine does not deliver only the right part, it delivers lots of wrong options for you to consider.
These are a miserable SOB to remove and install. You’d swear there isn’t enough room in the too-small door hole, and that the cables are too #&%* short, but it does fit. Remove the rear track first, and install the front track first, and just keep fiddling and adjusting the position of the cables until it suddenly slips in. Look for the install hardware for the motor mechanism in the box; I didn’t find it until the door was finished, and used a couple of machine screws instead of the plastic things, but what the heck. When you remove the old one, cut the plastic things that hold the motor in and don’t even try to save them, it can’t be done, and there are new ones in the bottom of the box. I also greased the track before buttoning it up, which made it slick and smooth and quiet; in fact, I suspect I could have greased the old one and it would have suddenly started to work, but it’s too late now!
Another hint; get the right tool for removing the inner panel, it goes so much easier! The plastic removal tools are great.
Overall, excellent product, indistinguishable from OEM (or possibly better; Chrysler mechanical parts are not exactly top drawer), quick delivery, etc etc. It’s not Dorman’s fault that they’re a miserable job to install. The you-tube tutorials are a help, too.

It Broke after 2 years and 4 months, and had to get a replacement. Got this for my 2006 Chrysler Town and Country Van and it was easy to install. Lasted a good while, but the plastic piece that holds the tensioned wire snapped so loud while driving one day. But good overall.

I watched a couple of videos and I read the instructions that came with the kit.
I was a little apprehensive Of doing this one myself because it looked complicated.
It actually turned out to be very simple you just need to take your time.
Everything worked perfect And went together exactly the way it should.
To make sure that I had the correct part, I went to the Dorman website first.
Then when i confirmed i had the right part number then I purchased it from Amazon with the link that went from doorman to Amazon.
If I have any issues I will update this review but so far I am 100% satisfied.

An additional note is don’t screw the rails in until both of them are in the door that way you won’t be fighting the limited length of the cables to get your second rail in.
When both rails are in then fasten them in place.

It lasted 2 days short of 11 months, with maybe 12 uses, when the plastic holding one of the cable ends snapped. Then, down the window went. I now have to replace it again. I purposely bought a Dorman so I wouldn’t be doing this again anytime soon. That was the plan anyways.
