Works great! Only thing is, instructions said my truck needed the jumper wire so I put it in and the window switch worked backwards. Took it off and went as normal. Watch for that.

  2. Glenn cain

Works as described, fit vehicle 2004 f150 easily. Not mentioned in instructions but oem had a jumper wire harness which has to be removed. Also remember to remove door speaker posts before reinstalling door trim panel. Happy with product to date. Chose Dorman over others due to their reputation. Other cheaper suppliers had poorer reviews.

This is a nice replacement assembly and offered at a reasonable price. It came in a ready to install package, including fasteners. Installation and operation was straight forward and flawless.
This unit covers quite a number of vehicles.
However, I made the mistake of assuming my 2006, F150 with an Extended cab was among the applications this unit would cover.
Turned out, the right side mounting position is different from the Standard cab and Crew cab, this unit was designed to fit.
Being pressed for time and avoiding the consequence of my mistake, I was able to switch out the right track assembly with the original to make it work.
Other than an impatient ordering, it installed and functioned properly.
Be sure to accurately check and verify your exact application.

Easy enough for a DIYer to change out. There are YouTube videos that will step you through the process. Perfect fit for my 2004 F150 SuperCab (2 full size and 2 half size doors & not the older style “heritage” model).

Put it in my 2005 f150 supercrew front passenger door. Works fine a little slower than the drivers door but still strong. I installed this thing in about an hour and half, very easy fix. Dealership wanted like 300 bucks to fix this, yeah right. For some reason they taped the switch wiring against the drive motor, makes the wire very tight when plugged in so i cut the tape to give the wiring some slack. Makes more sense to me to not have wiring on the motor any ways.

    It just quit working
It was purchased 3 months ago and
It broke. Made a popping sound now it no longer works. Something broke
No longer under warranty. The old one lasted many years. 😢🤬

I didn’t even think of Amazon when my passenger window failed in my truck. I checked around with other sites and then thought of Amazon. Sure enough, they had my part in stock with reviews and pictures. The power window regulator for my 2004 F150 FX4 arrived on time and I had it installed in about 30 minutes. Everything fit perfectly except the motor connection. Worked but not exactly the same. No hold together feature. A tyrap secured it with a few wraps of electrical tape. Other than that, it works great. I used Youtube for instructions for removal and then just put everything back the way it was.

It lasted 8 monthsotir dead in action don’t recommend..

I installed this in my super-cab 2004 F150 Lariat “New Body Style” front passenger door. Despite what Amazon says, this is the correct part for my truck. I suggest anyone shopping for this part go to the Dorman website and confirm the part number before making a purchase here on Amazon since the Amazon part checker doesn’t seem to have it right and it does matter if you have a regular cab, super-cab, or crew-cab. It’s been a month since I performed the repair.

Install was very easy for me. Fortunately, I had the doors disassembled a couple weeks ago installing new speakers so I was very familiar with the process. The hardest part of the job was probably easing the hardware in and out of the door carefully enough to not scratch any paint. I used gorilla tape to suspend the window after it was unattached from the regulator hardware. Some online videos instruct to remove the window completely, but good strong adhesive tape worked great for me. I performed the entire swap solo and didn’t need a second set of hands for the job.

An important note- the wiring was correct for my 2004 truck. From what I’ve read, Ford swapped the polarity on the F150 regulator switch mid-year in the 2005 model year. If you have a later model truck, you may have to switch the wires around to get up and down correct. Check functionality before putting the door back together!

After installation, the new motor is just as quiet as the OEM motor it replaced. Since I still have the OEM regulator on the driver’s side, I performed a little “drag race” with the windows to see if the Dorman regulator was faster or slower than the OEM unit going up or down. It was a tie… so it’s not faster or slower than OEM which is exactly what you want. Speaking of the driver’s side OEM regulator, I had it replaced by the dealer after my truck was about 1 year old because it failed in the same manner as the passenger side regulator (window just dropped into the door unexpectedly). It was fixed under warranty, but I remember the quote being in the $400 range. At the price of this aftermarket regulator, it’s a no-brainer to go with the Dorman product. I could fix all four regulators for less than the dealer wants to fix one!
