The OEM window was broken and the window would not go down all the way and has to be manually assisted to get it go back up. The Dorman window regulator and electric motor fit and works great. Highly recommend this as a replacement part.

I have a 2003 Mustang GT
Got this whole assembly in the door and found the wires were much too short, like half the length they should be (half the length of what you see in the product photo). Had to pull the whole thing out again and splice the wiring harness from my old motor to make it work. Wasn’t happy about that but the window works fine now. Just something to watch out for before you fight the thing into your door, check the wire length.

Removed from package looked ok, but motor is much smaller than factory. Secondly, the motor mounting bolts/screws are on the wrong side. Then upon further investigation, the lift motor they sell for the same car isn’t the one on the regulator. This means this whole unit is disposable. Why make a regulator/motor assembly that doesn’t use your own replacement motor? Because then the regulator itself would probably need to be re-engineered as Ford made the mounting locations for the motor on the regulator. My suggestion is find a used part if you need the regulator. Then, if you wanted, you could use the Dorman motor. The reason I bring all this up is with the factory parts the motor can be easily removed without touching the regulator by removing the door panel, vapor barrier, speaker and three 8mm bolts for the motor. Now if this unit has a window motor problem, you replace everything as an assembly, again. It just blows my mind that they would make a motor/reg assembly that uses a different motor than the replacement they sell for the same car????

Installed per instructions from youtube video. Used large suction cups to hold window because no helper was available. It works fine in 1999.V6 Mustang.

Works great, good price. Only thing that left me wondering was why the plastic sliders aren’t the same size as OEM. Rivets have to be removed to use / install the newly sized guide bar for the plastic sliders. There aren’t too many people that want to remove those when they are so close to the glass. Including the OEM size would be a great touch for those that don’t need to swap out the riveted guide.

Fit my 2004 Mustang and works just fine and now I can roll the drivers window down again. A bit of pain to install but that is not the parts fault.
