I purchased a used 2005 Lincoln Navigator and the window had problems when I bought it. It would go down just fine, but going back up was extremely slow. When it got really cold it would go SO slow then eventually just stop about 5 inches away from being closed and I’d have to open the door and ‘help’ the window go up. I ordered this part along with a couple of motors (both of which ended up being the incorrect motor anyways as the front driver’s motor is different than all others) and took it to a friend who is a mechanic. He replaced just the regulator and kept the original motor and it works like a charm now! Up and down perfectly, even in cold weather! Can’t beat the price on Amazon either, the same exact part is about $130 in local auto parts stores, and that is for the same part number and everything! If you are having window problems in your Navigator, Expedition, F150, etc, I would trust and recommend Dorman window regulators as a huge money saver vs the Ford brand part. Time will tell how it holds up. I’m writing this review in January 2014, if it fails I will update this review!

My regulator went bad on a Wednesday. I ordered this part on a Thursday about 3:00. It said it would be delivered on Saturday through Amazon Prime. I thought sure it would!!! Sure enough it showed up… Way to go Amazon. Next the fit…It did, and well. I have been forking on cars and windows in general for years and this is by far the best regulator i have ever installed. It took me all of 20 minutes to get this in and done. The only issue i had was one that a few of the other ratings had talked about and that was the inside door handle not fitting properly. Mine didnt, it took agout a minute with a razor knife and a small piece of 800 grit sandpaper and the issue was solved. Couldnt ask for a better part and better service…..

Replacement for our 2003 Ford Expedition. Installation was pretty straight forward. Everything fit and lined up well.
Well, almost at least. Hence the single store dropoff. I had the same problem that 90% of the people here had where the inner door handle hits. I had to shave just a little bit off behind the handle in order for it not to bind up when you used it. I wish I didn’t have to do it but it was a minor inconvenience compared to the rest of the installation. If any of what i read was true, I will be revisiting this again and again if I plan on keeping the truck for long as it is a very common thing to break 🙁

Mostly good. the door handle attachment pin carrier size didn’t match the handle pin. Thus, the plastic top keeper snapped completely off. had to drill the pin hole larger and fabricate a new keeper for the top pin. also, my factory motor doesn’t fit perfectly in the regulator and it’s causing the gear to grind and pop a bit straight from the box. maybe I got a bad regulator. I don’t know, maybe it’s a Friday afternoon batch. it’s in and works but noisy. I’m sure I’ll be replacing it again.

My window quit on my very nice 2004 expedition. The regulator went bad, but the motor was fine. I googled the problem and I was happy to find the best price replacement part on Amazon! I ordered the part and it proved to be an exact replacement. There was a guide for proper fitment on the website. Replacing the regulator requires some skill, but it is not difficult. The hardest part was removing the door panel. The part was virtually the same as the original with only minor differences. It looks as durable as the original and operates perfectly. Works like a charm!
The item shipped quickly and was well packed and arrived without incident. I would recommend it to anyone.

I purchased this to replace a faulty window regulator of my ’05 Ford Expedition. The total installation took me roughly an hour and a half — it being my first time. If I had to redo it, it would definitely take me less than an hour. The difficult part was maneuvering the window regulators in and out of the door. It took a bit of finesse to find the proper angles, but once it is done, everything else is a piece of cake. Overall, I am happy with the quality of the product.

This is for the B004AIKRF6 Dorman 740-179 Front Passenger Side Power Window Regulator. Passenger side. Like another reviewer wrote “Part failed. The plastic component which holds the interior door handle pivot broke, requiring complete replacement. Disappointed the original one lasted 15 years”
I had the same problem. The problem is that any replacement door handle wont fit without drilling and widening the holes where the pins fit in. They’re too tight. Somebody’s copying molds! A copy of a copy.
The top tab broke off when inserting the pin in. I used JB-Weld to keep it in place. Fortunately there is enough surrounding plastic to hold it. Poor quality. I would not buy this again. 3 years ago I bought another one (driver side) which fit perfectly. No photos I’m not taking it apart for that after 100 degree summer heat fiddling unnecessarily for the money spent!
