Did not fit my f150 with the W engine

Good quality. Fit great on my 2010 f150 4.6L.

The casting on these would have been great except for a serious and obvious couple of deep pits in the casting. The overall casting was very good but one pit was probably 2/3 way into a thick part of the casting. I don’t think it will be a problem but the Ford header design seems prone to cracking/warping so I wasn’t happy, especially as the price was good, but not great. That put aside the inside of the casting was nice and smooth and the final fit was very good. The gaskets are like the ford oems but mine were two ss layers instead of three; I used them.I don’t have much faith in either these or the ford oems as it seems to be hit or miss as to whether they warp or crack. Maybe just the overall design. My two ford oems both warped so bad they stripped the threads on two of the undersize studs on both sides, so it wasn’t just a matter of replacing studs but I had to install time-serts(which I highly recommend over helicoils) and all that. This has happened to thousands and thousands of these trucks and if it goes into a shop it can be quite expensive. I decided I had just as good a shot with the Dormans as with the Ford’s considering this but time will tell. I’ve done both sides of 2009 F150 (with the high shock towers) and if you decide to do a year with the same design you may need psycothrapy when your finished, especially if your trucks had a few years in the salt belt. Passenger side is a beast and driver side not much better. I had a pretty good stud removal system down by the time I got to the driver side but this job is not for the faint of heart .One garage I enquired( a guy I actually trust) at was going to pull the cab off the frame to do these and now I can see why. I do recommend using the stainless studs available here on Amazon.

stud broken off in head, still seals after a year of hard use, cheaper than pulling head to remove stud.

Fits perfect, no more rattling noise

Everything was great except shipping packaging… manifold must have been thrown around inside the a box which was twice the size with no packing or filler so the loose gaskets provided inside got mangled beyond use. Too bad cause everything else was perfect, great product!

Fits great, working great so far, but the heat shield is drastically lower quality…although the OEM was rusted away anyway so I guess they’re both crap. I sprayed the manifolds with VHT black and the shields with VHT satin clear.

Recieved the manifold within the specified time, in excellent condition. However the two other parts were missing from the package, just an oversight by the packer I believe. Spoke with customer service and he was excellent to communicate with and I was very impressed with the outcome.
    Amazon is an excellent company.
Oh yes, the Dorman part fit perfectly!

  9. Nikkita Matata

Just what I needed for a great price.

Without a red wrench this is tough. Psycotheropy is right!! It took me about 25 hours to do one without a cutting torch the first time in mid 2017. this is the drivers side but, I had to jack the engine up when I did the passenger side, saw and fight it out in pieces.
1/10/20 Now I have to do the same one again. The gaskets are garbage. Rust out quick. leak and warp / pit the manifold surface again. Use the OEM MLS gaskets that are a high grade stainless steel. they do not rust!! Heat shields disappear after 12 months in the rust belt. I bought a set of stainless studs and nuts. on a competitor web site but they sell them here too I now see but were less expensive elseware( Ford 4.6 & 5.4 Liter V8 Stainless Exhaust Manifold Studs Stud Kit (one side)) I should mention, after 3 years they came out like I put them in yesterday and that’s no exaggeration people . I Used the old OEM gaskets as I saved mine from the last install because they were flawless with only residue after years. Brillo-ed them and there perfect. again don’t waste your time with the crap I outlined or just go OEM but there not much better My OEM heat shield disappeared after 2 years. and the studs broke after 2.5. the issue? well again in my opinion the problem is water continually impedes on the engine side. There is no rubber shield (like I have always had and seen) protecting the wheel splash there. rotting everything it ( the salt spray) touches. The steering interconnector U joints, valve cover area ect in the rust salt belt. Another to 5- 10 years this truck will have gone back to where is began. iron ore.
