Is an incredible piece , made of forged iron. Very solid and fit my Matrix 2007 almost perfectly just the holding plaque was off 1/4 inch off, fix my problem of carbon emission in my car

As one would expect, Amazon does a fantastic job of fast shipping and expediting the orders. However, the product here, Dorman 674-939 Exhaust Manifold Kit leaves a lot to the imagination. The part seems to fit but is much heavier than the original and placement of the heat shields are very difficult to access once installed. The gaskets as supplied leak exhaust fumes to a dangerous level. All in all, it did fit but not correctly and took much longer to install as a result. I only give this a one star because it was shipped so quick. I will be returning as soon as I can get the original one repaired.

Gaskets were loose in the box and had damage. Would be better if the gaskets were inside of a box. The bracket underneath also needed a little modification to fit. Other than that, the Manifold is pretty good quality. My mileage jumped back to what it use to be.

Replacing a cracked exhaust manifold in a 1ZZ-FE equipped Toyota Corolla (03-08):

    1. The included support bracket adapter does not properly mate to the factory support bracket. You will either need to make modifications to the bracket, fab your own, or just attach it to the manifold with one bolt instead of two.

    2. The manifold is cast much thicker and with a slightly different shape than the factory manifold. As a result, there isn’t enough room for a socket or torque wrench to fit when securing the lower center nut. You must use a box end wrench and guesstimate torque.

    3. The included flange gasket is of poor quality and, hilariously, does not even fit on the provided manifold. Your local auto parts store should stock a superior Fel-Pro gasket that will fit right in.

Other than that, it will do the job. For a beater car it’s a much better option than the pricey OEM manifold. However, if cost is less of an issue, the OEM replacement will cause much less headache during installation.

got a 2003 corolla. perfect fit. really heavy to manipulate in comparaison to the original and the plate on the engine side is really thicker (that part was completely destructed by rust so a little more metal is a good thing!!!! Did require an adjustment for the support bracket but the actual one was so rusted on the car and looks like a little bended, was really easy to do. price point is awesome.

I installed this on my 2003 matrix xr it fit perfectly.the line up with the cat converter and the cylinder head was flawless.the gaskets supplied in the kit were perfect.the quality of the manifold made the factory one look like junk.the only speedbump i hit was the bottom bracket did not line up correctly and required a 5 minute modification.very easy.i have read some of the other reviews and understand people are having valid issues installing this.i dont know what to say? all i can tell you is if your buying this for a 2003 matrix.it will fit nicely.it only took about one hour to swap out.so you know it fit good

So, I tried to be cheap and ordered this to replace my supposedly “cracked” manifold instead of the $266 OEM one. Upon taking my old one off I found that my exhaust gasket that mates to the head was just bad…. it had excessive carbon on #1 and #4 almost to burn-though. oh well, the car was in the air, so I replaced the manifold anyway. The original had 191k miles on it so I figured it would probably crack soon. So I put the Dorman 674-939 manifold on (after running to the store to buy a gasket because their manifold engine gasket was all bent up and unusable) and low and behold the bracket that attaches to the manifold so you can attach it to the block did not line up. Tried flipping it around, no dice. I ended up just using one of the two holes on it and torquing the bolts down a lot. The other problem with this is that the exhaust donut gasket that goes between the manifold and the rest of the exhaust system did not even fit on the dorman manifold. It would not even fit on the OEM. There were actually two donuts in the Dorman box and one was way way way too small and the other one was just to small on the I.D. …. I tried stretching it, I tried beating it on with a board, no dice. So I ended up reusing the OEM one I had bought for $50 a few weeks earlier while troubleshooting the exhaust sound. The car is finally quiet again but I still wish I had just bought the right part. I am always going to wonder if that mount is slowly coming loose or rattling or if every sound I hear is the “used” gasket. The OEM part number for a 2008 Vibe (non-AWD) is 171040D040 if you wanna buy it from Toyota or 88969034 if you wanna buy it from GM. Buy whichever is cheaper as THEY ARE THE SAME PART. Haha. Good luck to all my fellow vibe owners and if you still want to be cheap and use this Dorman don’t say I didn’t warn you.

This part was exactly what my mother’s car needed. It worked perfectly and it came super quick. The quality was great on this part. If your vehicle needs this part I would definitely recommend you purchase it!!!

This product is meant to fit a wide variety of vehicles. As such, you sometimes have to adjuat/adapt in order to make it fit. The gaskets that came with it worked correctly and were the right ones for my vehicle.

The support bracket on the bottom does not line up correctly when both bolts are installed holding it to the manifold. At least not for my application. 2006 Corolla. So, I figured out which ONE of the bolts could be left in, allowing the bracket to swing down and line up with the bracket from the block. I installed the manifold with that bolt loose enough to swivel the bracket as needed, and then once hooked up on both ends, and once the manifold to head bolts had been snugged, then torqued, in the proper sequence, I tightened both bracket bolts. And that was it. Problem solved. It still supports the manifold, so there won’t be a problem.

My stock manifold had cracked. I was really surprised to see Toyota use a welded crap manifold rather than a cast iron like most OEM of that time. This replacement is cast iron, so I don’t anticipate any problems. And it took care of my exhaust leak.
