I had been having some issues and the DTCs P0171 and P0174. After some research, I discovered that the isolator bolts were at the root of the cause as well as the front valve cover on some models. I found this product on amazon and chose to go ahead and do the repair myself. I am a DIYer and don’t really like to pay anyone to do anything.
It was pretty easy and self explanatory. Just make sure when you do it that you know the torque specifics and the tightening sequence. Everything went together pretty well. The only issue I had was that the PCV valve included in the kit was leaking at the fitting where it connected to the upper intake plenum. I ended up taking it off and putting the old one back on. I think the actual PCV valve itself on the Dorman kit was allowing to much oil past.
Once completed, the P0171 code was gone, but I still have the P0174 code. Not sure what it is, but I’m pretty sure it’s not from the kit. The kit itself works very well.

easy to install and fixed the 171 and 174 errors i was receiving, I put it on nearly 10k miles ago and have not had a problem with it since

If you are having codes of P171 and P174 on your Windstar…..this will fix the problem along with some cleaning and proper installation. Haven had the code since replacing. Also a great value.

This kit had all of the required parts to fix the vacuum leak on my 2002 Ford Windstar. This has also fixed the issue of the van dropping out of overdrive when going up an incline at highway speeds. This repair requires mechanical experience to complete.

Product did the trick!! Reset my codes and engine lights have stayed off, a lot smoother idle as well. Do need a little bit of care to install but other than that, well worth it!!

I hoped the modified valve cover would stop the vacuum system from drawing excessive oil into the intake. It does not work. I had to install an air valve to reduce the amount of vacuum in the PVC line. Thus minimizing the amount of oil drawn into the intake. I am giving the product two stars because I needed the replacement tube and connections. They are are difficult to find apart from this kit.
