I used this for my 1997 mustang 3.8 that has a 2001 F150 4.2 motor swap. It fits and as an added bonus the crank pulley is smaller than the stock 1997 crank pulley. The pulley is a cheap under drive pulley option for 94-98 Mustang 3.8 but the balancer won’t work for those motors. May require a shorter belt but I used the F150 water pump pulley which is larger. I haven’t gotten that far with the swap yet.

I have been looking for this part for a while and it came in fast but the quality is some of the worst I’ve ever seen, it’s missing a solid chunk of metal, that didn’t brake off in shipping because it wasn’t even in the box. And the teeth were bent inwards

The teeth for it have a little flex to them but are sturdy, was a direct OEM fit, slid on the crankshaft nice and tight

I dislike it because even I bought the correct one it didn’t fit my car an I barely had money to take it to the mechanic and the mechanic told me the bad news that didn’t fit my car an I was very disappointed because my due date expire an I can’t exchange it

I had 2 fail back to back. When the first one broke, it came apart at a red light and just died and threw the belt. It also snapped the bolt off. I ordered a new Ford bolt and washer/spacer (took a week, special order), hand torqued it to spec, only to have this one break 30 miles later. Broken just like in the other review pic. Right on the seal surface. $400 in tows and repeat repairs later, ended up finding the discontinued Ford one and had it shipped for an astronomical amount. But this part was junk. If you buy Dorman parts, you’ll always question whether it’s ‘fixed’ or not….

The internal diameter that fits on the crankshaft is a little oversized. Slid right on, no need to press it on with the crankshaft bolt. Slight wobble before tightening the bolt. Ordered a replacement and it fit better but not like it should. The first one was .003 oversized and would cause the check engine light to come on. Code was for a misfire cyl 4. It was not missing! Too much space between the crank sensor and the tone ring.
