I’ve used 3 of the these oil drain plugs and all jave failed within 2500k miles o-rings aren’t sealing and don’t plan on using the rest. Tried to give these a chance but didn’t work out

I have two Volkswagens both plugs Leaked at startup went on test drive started leaking swaped it out for another new it leaked as well.
Joanna Vinals –
Being a Dorman product I am upset that after the first in the pack leaked, I examined the plugs and noticed there is no quality control?! The O-ring were different diameters in the pack. Screwed up my beautiful paver driveway with a leak.
Darrel Cooper –
I have had 2 problems with these in my last 2 attempts to use them–my son’s GTI and my new Passat. These plugs will not stay secure. When you tighten them, they click into place but as soon as you turn loose with your tool, they unclick from their locking tab and WILL LEAK. When I put an OEM plug in, it clicked into place and worked perfectly. These are just not engineered properly and it pays to buy this part OEM. Do not trust these plugs!!
Timothy Healy –
I’ve never had a problem with Dorman products before, but like many of the other reviewers noted, the seal that these plugs provide does not endure. It didn’t leak at first, but after about 3 months, it started leaking. I don’t recommend using these plugs.
Michael –
I used one of these for a previous oil change and it worked fine. The second one is leaking… apparently a lot of people have this problem and it’s hit or miss. Spend the extra $6 on an OEM plug and eliminate the issue. You’ll thank me later.
Frankie –
Used two of these and both left the car leaking oil. Ordered some oem plugs and have no issues. Threw these in the trash where they belong. Wish I could rate them zero stars.
