Are your door locks sticking and not fully locking or unlocking. Do you have to use your key to open the door on your 1997-2001 Ford truck or Expedition? If so, these are the solution! Replacing these requires removing door panels, nimble finger work, and care not to lose small clips that hold the actuator rods in place-a bit of a challenge. But the end result is worth it. Thes have held up great to 2 years of daily use and the quality of the materials seems better than the original. I’m very pleased with the purchase.

UPDATE: After just a few days of use, the door closes great. I am keeping the product and changed my 3 star review to 5 stars.
According to the description. “This is a perfect replacement and can be easily installed that meets or exceeds OEM standards”
Not true in my case. See attached video.
The door does close BUT not close the way it used to. When mounting, the screw holes are not exact but close enough so they can be started and screwed in to hold in place.
I will see how it does after 5-10 days before I decide if I will return.
It did work better than the last one I bought for $28 (door wouldn’t close at all).

Fixed my door locks & now I can use the fob/power locks. I have a 2000 Ford F-250 XLT crew cab. The power locks would hum, but not unlock or lock the doors. This is a VERY common issue with early 2000 era Fords. OEM parts are priced high & I didn’t want to spend the money replacing an OEM part that was notorious for failing…for obvious reasons. So, I turned to the Amazon & found these on the cheap. If they fail in the next year or so, then it’ll be a “get what you pay for” type deal & I’ll reevaluate then. For the price? Worth the risk. Showed up fast of course (Thanks, Prime!). Plenty of videos showing how to do the install. Was it easy? No. Was it hard? No. It was time consuming doing the first door. The video we used was about 13 minutes long. It took considerably longer than that. At least a couple hours, which is what we anticipated. My dad & I got some good, quality family time together installing the first door. My 13 year old nephew & I did the passenger door. It took considerably less time & was worth the quality family time to teach him a bit of wrenching on a truck for when he turns 16.
So, it’s well worth the price & the bonding experience.
Total value is definitely there, but I do have one concern:
The OEM part is garbage due to the “safety” feature that makes them pretty much fail. However, the post that fits into the slot to move the locks is metal on the OEM version. This actuator has a plastic part. While most everything in modern vehicles is plastic, it’s the only piece that concerns me, since it does most of the heavy lifting for the automatic door locks. Who knows? May be just fine. Only time will tell. So, here is the pro/con list for anyone reading this post:
Pros:
Cheap! (Not cheaply made, just budget friendly cheap)
Works! Definitely considering buying again to fix the back doors.
Better than OEM! (Better in price & functionality so far)
Cons:
The little plastic post is plastic instead of metal.
*Keep in mind, it is not that part that failed regularly, it’s the metal “safety” regulator that was junk in the OEM version. There is a work around using aluminum foil to get your stock actuators to work. There is also a YouTube video for that, but it seems like a lot more work for questionable results.
Summary:
Buy this part. It’s cheap & it works great so far. If it fails anytime in the near future then I will update this review. If you have a crew cab, buy the 4 pack for $39 & save a few bucks. I bought the 2 pack simply to save money & try it out, but it will probably result in me buying again to fix the back doors.

This product did fit and worked properly, but only for 18 months. After that, all it would do was click and not actuate the lock properly.

My old power locks would only twitch when I pressed the button. Bought these and it fits perfectly. They are a little different from OEM but still work. They are a plug and play type part. You do not have to do anything special and no special tools are required. Took about 15 minutes per door to install. With a little mechanical knowledge, it’s fairly easy. If you’ve never turned a wrench before, you might have a little trouble. They came in good packaging and there was no damage.

Fortunately, these are easy to replace so I do intentionally pick the price point option. These are a little less robust than a factory unit but still very reliable for the price. It has been in the truck(2003 Navigator) for a couple of weeks now and has been working flawlessly. Will happily by another set when needed. Seems I get a couple of years from these devices and then they need to be removed and opened up and re-greased with some good silicone or di-electric grease then they work for another few months. They are easy to swap out in my truck so I just keep getting these lower cost options and doing the swap.
