Purchased this starter for my 92 Sunbird with a 3.0 OMC Cobra. Bolted up and wired just like the original. The only difference is this unit is about half the size of the original. Cranks the motor over twice as fast as the stock starter. I could barely let go of the key fast enough the first time I tried it, as the motor was running that fast. I can’t really comment on longevity, but so far so good. Have been out on the lake several time since installing and have had no issues. Lots of starts from towing kids around. Very happy with product and at about 1/3 the price of OEM you can’t beat it.

ran fine a few times on my houseboat. then it just smoked and burnt up. was hot to touch for 4 hours. been trying too return it and so far not good service.

The starter on my inboard Mercrusier rusted out and stopped working. I went to the local boat dealer and they wanted $275 for a starter! Came on Amazon and picked up this gem, nice and cheap! It was about half the size of my old starter and mounted perfect! Still works great a year later, what more can you ask for?

We didn’t think it was going to work at first because it’s a lot smaller than the original one but we put it in and it works amazing we’ve had the boat out over a couple dozen times runs better than what it did before and it was a lot lighter than the first one and easier to install I would recommend this product to anybody the only problem is it didn’t come with the bolts as shown but that was no big deal because bolts are cheap
