Excellent value

I put this on a repowered (Briggs & Stratton) John Deere 317 garden tractor. It works great.

Lawn mower

It works but much higher than others out there. I had a problem with delivery and supplier was no help and said to bad. ( per email).

c clip on front and spring was bent ..hard to deal with company..so i went local to try to buy parts to fix..im older and don’t know how to give them a picture so they just brushed my old butt off

Replaced the old starter on a Troy Built rider with a 13hp Briggs with this one. Fitment was perfect and works great. The only thing I’m skeptical about is how long the nylon gear will last, but it did come with a 2nd gear, so that was great. Glad I ordered this starter, but time will be the true test.

The new starter worked fine. The removal of the old starter and installation of the new starter is a big pain in the behind. It requires a special 1/4†flex socket, made by Snap-on, but which has a Briggs & Stratton number also. Without that socket, I would have had to be a monster mechanic or a toolmaker to do it.

Installed beautimusly, works as it should.
