When clicking on the link it’s advertised as 20 V charger for Bauer battery. I just noticed today on the charger itself. It says 18 V charger for Bauer but if you look on the pictures, it says 20 V charger for Bauer not too educated on this but the output does say 18 through 21 V at 2 A. I wonder if this will damage the battery overtime? Only used it once on a brand new battery but hopefully it doesn’t destroy it.

I wanted a DeWalt charger that I could use in my car, so I thought I would give this one a try. Excellent choice. This charger is well made out of good quality materials. Fit and finish are good. Functions just like a standard plug-in charger, only this plugs into the lighter socket in your vehicle. Perfect fit for standard DeWalt batteries. Works well. Compact. Highly recommend. 5 stars.

I have several 20v Bauer tools along with a large assortment of batteries for them. I have a few Bauer chargers already, but what attracted me to this one was the compact size. The OEM Bauer charger is pretty large, but that’s okay for benchtop use in the shop. To throw in the tool bag for the truck or race car trailer, however, the compact size seems to work better.
I used this charger with a couple of Bauer 5Ah batteries. Both of these were completely discharged when I put them on this charger and both seemed to charge fully without any problems.
This charger has a status light that is red when the battery is first put on and then turns green when the battery is charged. The OEM Bauer charger has two separate lights (red and green) but that is not a significant difference to me. Also, this charger got pretty warm when in use but that did not seem to affect its charging ability. It does detect an overheated or a failed battery and shows flashing lights to indicate these states. Fortunately, I did not have either problem while I was using it. I’ll be putting this in my tool bag and seeing how it works out in the long term.

HF / Bauer charger unexpectedly stopped working. The fuse was OK and rectifier section was working – but it wouldn’t charge. A closer look suggested the computerized charge controller had fried (See Images). This replacement model seemed much more appealing than a getting the OEM version costing 3x as much. I put it to immediate use topping off a couple of partially used Bauer 20V Lithium batteries with no problems. It did get warm while charging but although remaining connected to the battery seemed to cool off once the charging completed light came on. Although the box confirmed this was for the Bauer, the instructions listed every battery except the Bauer. I suspect but cannot confirm this might work with any 18-20V lithium battery. Very happy with this charger.
