Access is somewhat limited for installation but only took me about 15-20 minutes to remove broken one and install the new one. Original lasted me 18 years so hoping for at least half as long from this one.

Would like to put 4.5 stars but guess I will put 5 for the price. Replacement handle/cable seems of decent quality but of course time will tell. Fit just as good as factory. I only used the cable from this kit. The color of the handle looked factory but the printing of the “P” on the handle was not centered or straight and that would have bugged me every time I saw it so I just didn’t use it since only my cable had broken. I just removed the cable and used the factory handle that was still installed. Very easy repair that can be done with no major or special tools. Total time of repair was less than 5 minutes and that included me looking for my flashlight. I use my parking brake every time I drive and my factory one lasted 21 years. If this lasts half as long it is definitely worth it for the price.

I don’t have much time to work on my truck let alone ship back and reorder parts. This arrived looking used and damaged. The cable is frayed which doesn’t give me confidence of its reliability.
01/07/25 Update
Sent back the first order. Immediately received a replacement. The replacement has a non frayed cable, but the handle lettering is spotty and not as clear as the OEM 22 year old part. The handle looks like it’s been rolling around with other parts., so it’s rough and has some marks on it. Returning it and hoping third times a charm.

Read a review where someone kept his original lever(handle) and only replaced the cable. Brilliant! I did the same. I didn’t even have to remove the existing lever(handle). I took the cable off the new lever(handle), attached it to the spring/release mechanism , then attached it the lever(handle). This elimantes the lever removal and reinstall steps.
