A bit tricky to install. But that is a VW problem. Exact match to the OEM version of the part. Great price too!

Replaced the old one on my daughter’s 2006 Beetle 2.5L and it fixed the vehicle’s issue. Hard start and check engine light went away. Issue with cooling fan running at max speed as soon as it started and now it works properly.

My Volkswagen Beetle Convertible kept yelling at me, because it thought the car was “Under Temp”.
I swapped the Thermostat, and it still wouldn’t quit yammering on about the temperature being too low…
So I snagged this Temp Sensor!
It literally took about 35 seconds to swap it, and what do you know?
Happy Beetle!
It’s an exact clone of the OEM VW part, so much so that if if the old part was clean, and you put the new one in a bag with it, shook it up, and dumped them out, you wouldn’t be able to tell which is which without reading the markings.
It doesn’t do a whole lot… It just kind of gets lippy when something is wrong in temperature land.
It fixed My problem for $12.99 instead of $48 from the dealer parts counter.
That’s a winner in My book!
Make sure you put the retainer clip back on after you change it, or the sensor will pop out while you’re driving, and all your antifreeze will leak out…. I mean, that’s what some guy told me… I definitely didn’t forget My Clip!
Nope! That did not happen, no matter what My daughter tells you!

Haven’t had code come up since Installed. Great product

Amazon says it a direct fit for my 99 Volkswagen Beetle but it doesn’t even come close to fitting!!
Chelsea Lewis –
This coolant temperature sensor is OEM equivalent. A good value for under $15.

This does not cone with the black tab picture in the video. Be careful! Worked fine besides that. We just had to rig our own tab, so not sure how long that will last.
Richard Lemieux –
I bought an original Audi part instead. It fit properly.
