These are made backwards and thus don’t fit. And the protective coating was torn. And the tailgate side mount was too thick so it doesn’t swing freely. There are other options–cheapest not best.

Purchased for my ’99 Tacoma. I was able to install them but with some difficulty due to the metal thickness. Once installed, the metal ends would not rotate freely due to their thickness and – when I closed my gate – it bent the metal on the truck bed where the gate meets the fender. The protective rubber coating on the new straps was also scraped off. I thew them out and paid a little extra for OEM Toyota. Well worth it. The OEM cables are thicker and the metal ends are the correct size to allow the rotation.

Never go to dealer to pay 2x the cost if you can find it on Amazon. Quality excellent.

Length is fine but the tailgate end of the cable is not the correct size. The length and width of the hole that fits over the tailgate tabs is fine but it’s too thick. You can force it onto the tabs but it binds and doesn’t rotate.

Did not fit a 2003 Toyota Tocoma Prerunner. Tail hate would not shut. They are not same shape as original.
