Ordered these at last minute due to the fact the part stores in town were more than double in price. High quality part for a cheaper price than anywhere else. Detroit Axle has high quality parts and at more than reasonable price! Detroit Axle is the only part I use!

This seems to be working as it should. I think it even improved my alighnment, my car used to pull to the right. Not anymore😊 The only complaint I have is that it makes loud noises when I go over bumps I definitely feel them too, but I’m sure that will go away as they are worked in more.

  3. Rich Hardesty

    Fit the car perfect

They might be decent struts? Time will tell.
Raised welds on bottom of strut caused struts to jam up in casting, had to grind down raised areas on both struts

struts fit 2002 Taurus perfectly. Hopefully they will last a long time

Review of Detroit Axle – Front Strut Sway Bar kits for 1996-2007 Ford Taurus 96-05 Mercury Sable Complete 2 Struts w/Coil Spring 2 Front Sway Bar Links 2001 2002 2003 2004 2005 Replacement Ready Struts Assembly @ $149.24 at time of purchase.

I bought this to use on my 2002 Ford Taurus that had a front strut going bad. I liked that the coil springs were already installed, and these came with sway bars. I had a mechanic install these for me and he told me that it is less expensive and easier to already have the coil springs on the struts. I found the part to be more than I wanted to pay, but this was the most reasonable price I found and for a product brand that has a positive reputation. Plus, it is made in the USA! These seem like well made OEM replacement parts that should last me a long time. I left it boxed when I took it to him, so I did not take photos. The parts are as portrayed.

Hopefully this helps someone decide about this product.

I feel the price was reasonable cheaper than I could buy locally the shipping was very fast the struts work very well. Would do business with them again.

The product? Absolutely great! I got the front struts with sway bar links and they’re perfect. The process of putting them on my car? An absolute pain in the a$$. The correct way to do these struts on a Taurus/Sable involves separating the control arm and knuckle at the ball joint. Despite all efforts, we could not make that happen. Per the advice of a fellow mechanic, I ended up grinding down the openings in the subframe where the control arm sticks through. That allowed me to pull down the control arm just enough to get the old strut out and the new one in.
