The ears on the inner part of the clips grind against the rotor when installed. Clips squealed horribly during test drive. After taking off the wheels again you can see two of them broke in half with the ears ripped off and the two of them has the ear bent in and burnt to hell. 2022 Subaru legacy

After installing, I went for a test drive around town. Lot’s of squealing, which I expect from new brake – for a short time. But, on day 2, the noise showed no sign of going away. I pulled the wheels back off to find that one of the slip was broken*

I pulled the new clips out, and put the old ones back in (thankfully I still had them). The noises all went away immediately.

*I didn’t take pictures, but I can tell you that the new clips feel thinner and are missing an addition piece of rolled metal in the connecting strip (where they broke) vs. the OEM clips.
