Springs fit in well. Can’t say they were an easy install because changing out springs is not an easy job. I’ve had them on for about 6 months now and the only complaint is the front springs seem a bit soft. I get a little more bounce than with the oem air shocks but since the whole set cost less than one oem air shock and my navigator is 12 years old this was the better option to me.

I purchased these July 10th 2017. I had to replace one of the front struts within a month of installing. I had concerns with the rear struts as they seemed bouncy. I called Detroit Axle at that time, I think it was around August and was informed at that time that I would have to pay a deposit and it would be refunded once they received the old struts. I did not have time to take off and reinstall at that time, so I had to hold off. I called again today, (5/23/2018), because the struts are VERY bouncy. I do not think they are the right struts for my vehicle as they have always seemed bouncy and are getting worse. Detroit Axle informed me today of the 137.00 deposit, which I would have not had a problem with, but, the guy on the phone informed me that when they refund it when they get the struts back, they will be keeping $40.00 for the shipping. Now, these struts are STILL under warranty and I do not feel I should have to pay shipping for a defective or sub par item. I do not recommend this company as I had to replace one of the struts right away (front) and have to now replace the rears as well due to poor manufacturing or wrong items. I will be buying another set and throwing these in the garbage where they belong. I went to Detroit Axle’s website to leave a review and that part of their web page is down.
So, as of 7/25/2018 I have replaced all 4 strut assemblies with Monroe strut assemblies and the difference is night and day. My advice, do NOT buy these as they are not OEM spec. Spend the little bit extra and buy Monroe’s and do not waste the money on Detroit Axle, they went to the dump as a lesson learned.

Gave these a year before writing a review… had my local shop replace them on my 2005 expedition but he said they were an exact match. Did wonders for the drive an has held up for nearly a year without any issue. Good value and helped breath life into my old SUV.

These are worse than my old ones. My old ones road better than this but made noise. The fronts are to stiff and the rears are to bouncy. Not even equal. Now I have to ride like this until I can afford to replace these. Very unhappy

I was skeptical…but after pricing all four struts from other part shops…$318 for these can’t be beat. Right away the improved ride quality on my 2005 expedition was back to like new! Stable, smooth, immediately noticeable. I’m two weeks into the new struts and they have made an incredible difference. I paid a shop $450 to install them and do an alignment because I didn’t have the time myself . So all 4 struts+labor+alignment worked out to $768. Other tire shops using Gabriel or Monroe struts (without new springs I might add) was $1150-1400 depending on the shop.
Yes they are made in China, but hey if it’s gonna save me 30-50% I will buy these all day long!!!
I wouldn’t recommend these for someone taking their rig off road, but if your SUV is the typical urban assault vehicle or helps with light towing/farm use, I think these would be worth the chance! They have worked great for me so far!

My 06 Expedition had 279,000 miles and kept eating the inside of tires, the dealer said new shocks would fix the problem, the dealer wanted $1600 for struts & labor so I decided to get these and put them on myself. They ride noticeably nicer than the stock shocks I replaced and the car definately sits up higher now. Shipping was fast and installation was straight forward ” you will need a 30mm deepwell socket and a wrench as well as a large pry bar” to change these on a Ford. And plan on spending 30-40 minutes per axel if you’re mechanical.
