install was a breeze. one star off due to these being alot stiffer a ride. will update if the settle in.

Received wrong parts first but once we got a hold of the seller (the right phone # was hard to find, for me) they quickly resolved the issue & got us the correct parts. My 2001 Subaru Forester is loving the new front struts – installed easily as well. Thank you Detroit Axle.

Arrived on time, if not earlier… But I’m not sure what Detroit Axle did here, but they either sent me 2 passenger side struts, and labeled each strut as a driver and passenger, with different part numbers, or the driver side strut was manufactured the same as the passenger. Because the struts are identical, with different part numbers.. The brake line and abs sensor connections on the DRIVER side strut are reversed, and identical to the passenger side….I ended up fabricating something to secure the lines to strut.. I wasn’t about to contact the company and go through the annoying process of returns, shipping cost, especially since I was in need of struts ASAP…..so I just dealt with it myself…. there’s also a “binding” sound coming from the upper PASSENGER strut mount when making right turns…. Figured I might have to buy a new strut mount eventually if anything……the sound is slowly decreasing after commuting 45 mins each way on the turnpike for eight days….but it’s still noticeable….my girl said to return them, but Ive had an automotive career for 20+ yrs, and needed them asap.. … but if I didn’t, I would’ve returned them, and been upset about any shipping costs…… if a customer bought these and brought them to our shop for an install, our company would have told the individual to return them…..Was thinking about getting the rear pair eventually from the same company, definitely not now, Because there is something noticeably wrong with both the “driver” and passenger sides…..so I don’t know if this is a fluke purchase, or Quality control was on vacation this week, or whatever the circumstances are, and why I received, what I received…. But it’s a Pretty disappointing purchase here honestly….

Fit my 2000 Forester perfect. Alot cheaper than the auto parts stores if your buying the whole assembly, comes with mounts and everything in one piece, just remove install new one.

Slid in with no issues. Haven’t heard any extra noise and seems to dampen how it should at least for the first 2k miles of driving on it. I drive some nasty roads and it’s doing the job.

This will move the canter a bit! Obviously not a right fit.
When I tried to return it, they charged me 100% restocking fee. Will never buy Detroit Axle items ever again.
Beware of this 3rd party seller. They pretty much never return the item for you. They “warranty” their terrible car parts. Additionally, they give you a “refund” but charge you 100% restocking fee. But because they provide you with a “refund” they tie Amazon’s hands in being able to help you. I think it’s a terrible business practice and a loop that Amazon needs to look into. I highly recommend not doing any sort of business with Detroit Axle.

Great strut replacement. Fit perfect!

Not bad. They don’t have the rubber dampener on top to stop all the clunky noise, but I have had way worse. The ride isn’t bad. You can’t beat the ease of install!
