I must admit that I bought these towels thinking I’d be able to use them to detail my car and my motorcycle because of the company name – Detailer’s Choice. Unfortunately, these towels are exactly as advertised – they are SHOP towels. They’re great for degreasing engines, wiping off tools, cleaning dirty equipment – stuff like that.
Do NOT use these on your vehicles. I tried on one spot on my car, and they left red lint everywhere. I know, I know, the product name is “Shop Towels” so I should have known better, but I was hoping I could get away on the cheap and not have to buy microfiber cloths. I’ve learned my lesson.
As far as shop towels go, these are decent, but I’d prefer something that didn’t leave so much lint everywhere, even if all I’m using them for is wiping down my wrench.

Don’t know why all the negative reviews. They are shop towels. They work just like any other red shop towels. Some of ya’ll are wanting detailing towels or something. These work just fine. Check oil, clean up oily messes and so on.
Maybe they are a little cheaper made than some other shop towels I have had in the past but they are pretty good.

I used to get these same rags from a service when I had my shop. They were expensive, but the service cleaned them up and in that way it was worth it to have the service. The fact that I can get so many of these so cheap allows me to be more selective about ones I wash and which ones I just toss. They’re absorbent (enough) but their true worth comes from the fact that they’re so darned tough and perfectly sized. They’re abrasive enough to let you really clean stuff up, but they’re soft enough that they won’t destroy your hands or irritate dry skin, etc. I’m glad they’re so readily available.

I rarely find myself compelled to comment on products purchased on the web (even though I usually read the reviews others have written before purchasing) and Amazon usually sells good stuff, but these rags are so bad I felt I HAD to say something. I ordered them to use in my motorbike shop and, frankly, I cannot find one use to justify keeping them. They are abrasive, coarsely woven, non-absorbant, non-colorfast and they leave lint on everything they touch; in a word, they are JUNK. Don’t waste your money, buy something else or use paper.

Very tough fabric (not some easy to tear cloth). I can see a whole bunch of uses around the house/garage/garden for these towels. Great deal for $6…

They’re a little rough and the weave is coarse. Don’t use them to wash your face. I’ve used them for wiping grease off things and to apply polishing compound. They didn’t leave red lint as others have complained, but I rarely use them dry. I wouldn’t use them to clean my vehicle, but for the price they’re good general purpose towels where paper isn’t strong enough. When I need something to polish, I’ll buy actual microfiber cloths or cut up baby blankets from a thrift store.

Okay, my bad for buying these despite the bad reviews. I planned to use these for wiping down greasy, gunpowdery handguns. Once you’ve used a piece of cloth for that, it’s pretty much toast – you throw it away when done. These seemed cheap enough that I wouldn’t feel bad about tossing them afterward. I thought, just how bad could these things be that they wouldn’t be usable for at least wiping down greasy metal? Well, considering that they’re almost the consistency of burlap, they’re not usable for much at all. Yes, they are almost as coarse as burlap (okay, not quite as coarse, but certainly reminiscent of burlap), and pretty stiff and scratchy. I’ll try to come up with some use for these things, but it’s going to be tough.
Probably should have purchased some of the shop cloths sold here that are apparently just chopped up tee shirts. Tee shirts and other such cottony things are much better for final wipedowns on guns.

These towels work pretty good for cleaning oil off your tools. I bought these towels to mostly clean up minor spills like transmission fluid or oil but for that reason it worked great to me. I’ll definitely be buying more of these towels. Also wanted to mention i bought these towels through amazon so the price was great.
