The listing for this product is missing key information. This is for filters with less common 13/16-16 threads. The filter nipple that comes with this is 3/4-16 on the end that threads into the filter mount and 13/16-16 on the other side for the filter. The derale 25709 is for filter with the more common 3/4-16 threads. ASA performance is the main reason for the 1 star review and their horrendous customer server and shady tactics charging restocking fees when the listing clearly states FREE returns.

I tried 4 brands of filters on this external mount and there were bad messy leaks every time. Unfortunately the oil ended up in the bilge of my boat. Anyway, I finally figured out that the threads in the aluminum were not square to the mount so the “back” side of the filter that I couldn’t see wasn’t seated as tightly as the three sides I could see. After the oil pressure built up, it was like a volcano of oil everywhere. I thought it was the filter so I changed it. I went through four filters. Finally I took the whole thing off and studied it and figured out the problem. Ordered the same product from a different manufacturer and dry tested it today and it looks like it is perfect and will install it tomorrow.

Had to order the right size nipple, 3/4 16 for the filter I wanted, but other than that it works

Machined properly and works fine. Be sure to confirm the nipple size for the filter you plan to use.
