I’ve used these before, especially on hot rods with headers that block access to the filter. In this application, on my 2012 Ram 1500 with the Hemi engine, the stock filter location was difficult and made a huge mess whenever I changed the oil. This kit effectively enables you to move the filter under the hood, where it’s easy to get to and will not make a mess.
It included all of the parts, including the hose clamps, a variety of filter nipple adapters and plenty of heavy duty hose. The only thing you will need to finish this job is Teflon tape for the hose fitting threads, Although these look like AN-style fittings, which shouldn’t leak, they do leak, no matter how much you tighten them. After using Teflon tape on them, they’re leak-proof now.
The spin on nipple adapter uses a snap ring, to hold it into place. This design makes me very nervous, as one thin steel snap ring under tension and covered in hot oil is all that prevents the filter adapter from shooting off of your engine. However it actually appears to be working fine, so we’ll see… The adapter O-ring and diameter fits perfect for my application with no leaks. The additional large adapter was not necessary.
The remote mount uses a standard and common Fram PH8A filter, which is perhaps the most popular oil filter size on the planet. They’re cheap, large and you can find them anywhere. I put a label next to it, as a reminder of the size.
My only recommendation, aside from using Teflon tape, is to used a marker pen to clearly mark the in and out ports, as the small casted text is difficult to see. I put red arrows on mine, indicating the fluid direction. This has to be correct, in order for this to work.
I highly recommend this part…

NOTHING IS PLASTIC! I almost sent it back until I looked closer. The hose barbs are black anodized aluminum. They are VERY light but is thick walled, which is what made me look closer. I purchased a length of fiberglass hose cover to protect the rubber from heat. The whole system should last years.

7/10 would recommend.
Installed on 2011 F150 5.0 engine
Like other reviewers have stated, the threads tend to leak, even when using thread tape. I followed the included instructions and taped the hose nipple threads. This Worked on 2/4 connections, but still leaked oil on startup and idle with the two for the relocated filter .
Luckily, Mine only had issue with the two at the new filter bracket, but I still had to drain the oil, remove the bracket and two fittings, and reinstall everything in order to correct the problem.
My solution was to use tape and “pipe dope”, or pipe thread sealant. Pictures attached of the additional product I used.
I’d say that If you choose to do this as well, then apply the thread tape as you normally would, and then apply the thread sealant on top of the tape. Then wipe off the excess sealant. You obviously dont want the sealant falling off when you’re tightening the fittings and then getting into your oil supply. Just know that this is on you, and your results, and mileage, may vary. So far for me, this has solved the problem and eliminated the leaks. Pictures should show the product, what the manufacturer recommends it for, and what my use of it in this application looks like. Hope this helps and good luck on your build.

This kit is what I am looking for in the case to eliminate my oil filter and oil cooler lines from touching my 2010 infiniti g37x front sway bar. It worked perfectly fine and also let me use much bigger capacity K&N performance oil filter. It’s worth to mention that is made in USA,great quality and includes everything you need. Highly recommended if you need to relocate your car oil filter for some reason.

EXTREMELY difficult to install, and I am very experienced, having installed three other Derale kits on two Suburbans, and one 4 banger Nissan truck. Never had a leak on those installations, but this one leaked at all eight fittings. At barbs-to-hose, and barbs-to-mounting plates. Even tightened with cheater bar on wrench.
Drained oil, took ALL off, and put in vise to tighten barbs. Still leaked! Tightened hose clamps so much that rubber came thru clamp slots. Second time took ALL off, drained oil AGAIN, cut new hose, but still leaked.
All I can figure is that Derale must have outsourced to China crap – hose barbs have such small ridges. No more Derale for me.

Product is solid, but fitting, specially something that handles that much pressure should have lower tolerances, better fitting to avoid leaks..

Fitted to Mercruiser 5.7 vortec Sea Ray 2001 Sundeck engine. if you buy the OEM factory relocation kit then its $500, this one does a great job for a fraction of that cost in fact its 7 times cheaper. As well as the quality they supplied a quality hose which was plenty long to reach the relocation spot. There are plenty of adaptors to fit I would think any GM engine. Installation was straightforward and it took longer for me to make a bracket than actually install this whole kit. the only negative was that the o rings seemed a fraction oversized but with some grease i was able to get them to sit in and seal properly. With some negative reviews on other kits i can only relate that i was super impressed by this one. fortunately I had the engine out to rebuild which made life easier, probably very tough if the engines in the boat as Mercruiser in the infinte wisdom, stick the oil filter right at the back right corner, awful to get to.
