This fuel pump was installed in my ’64 Corvair, which Amazon says is compatible. Days later, my entire crankcase, cylinders, and intakes had filled with gas, and gas was overflowing though my carburetors. I learned later from the Corvair community that the push rod length on the bottom of all new pumps currently on the market is too long, causing the diaphragm to blow out and fuel to drain directly into the crankcase below. I was parked on a steep uphill slope, causing fuel from the gas tank to gravity drain until it went to the top of the crankcase, into the cylinders and intakes, and out the carburetors; in other words, a perfect storm. Now I’m stuck with another broken fuel pump, an engine full of gas, oil and filter that need to be changed, fouled spark plugs, and an inoperable vehicle. Do not buy this fuel pump unless you change out the internal rod that is too long. Better yet, just don’t buy it.
I took the fuel pump apart after the fact, and the diaphragm was basically glued to the top cover, leaving the spring stuck in the compressed state. The spring and the washer (that the push rod is peened to) shot out when I pried apart the diaphragm and top cover.
Real life mechanic. –
The center of the pump was cracked and leaked gas. Since I had to get car running again I used the center of existing pump to get running again. Very disappointed that it was cracked.

The media could not be loaded.
This is a well made pump BUT it is for a 60-61 and must be used with a 60-61 fuel pump rod, which you can get from Corvair Ranch. If you need to run this on a 62+ you will need the rod.
Edit – 200 miles in and it’s making very little pressure. Starts at 4psi but after a mile or two it’s down to less than 1psi. Shame.

Beware!!! I ordered this Delphi MF0187 Mechanical Fuel Pump for my 64 corvair since the website said Fits “64 Corvair ” and since I was skeptical based on previous reviews and research, I also called Delphi Tech support and they said it fits a 64. It does NOT fit!!!!! The reviews about the pump stem being too long are true!!! It’s only a quarter inch too long but that would cause the stem to ram into the diaphragm and cause a major problem as a customer mentioned. This pump is only for the early model corvairs 60-61. It does not fit the 62-69 Vairs as stated.

Leaks and loses pressure, just like all the rest. Go electric and your troubles will end..
