I ordered this pump to put in my dads truck in nov of 2018. in oct of 2018 the pump died and left us to call a tow truck to get home. we took the pump out and tried to get it to pump but it would not. we even hooked it directly to a battery and it would not run. so we contacted delphi and sent it back to them. they claimed that nothing was wrong with the pump?
it was the day before hunting season so we bought a new delphi pump from the local napa before we heard back for a warranty on the failed pump (because we figured it would be warrantied) the second delphi pump has been fine untill this month my dads truck started running terrible and through some investigating we found that the new delphi pump would only produce about 40 psi and not hold any pressure without it pumping. ( bad check valve) except this time it was out of the warranty period so we scrapped the whole hanger and went with a carter brand one hopefully this one will last a little longer

Don’t cheap out on a pump that is difficult to replace. This worked great and have everything needed in the box.

I have been trying to improve lost performance and eliminate intermittent returning codes,P0171 & P0174. Though these codes returned after a test drive,I am not disappointed at all. The truck is running better than it ever has since owning it the last 3yrs.
With 210,000miles and 24 yrs old I figured changing it before it just out right going bad was a wise move,I think it was running with the factory installed pump.
Could have saved a few bucks by just buying the pump itself but buying the whole assembly was time saving and thorough with everything being new.It was more difficult breaking the eight bed bolts lose & putting back on than changing the pump/sending unit assembly itself. Delphi appears & operates like GM/Delco-Remey parts….Quality!

Bought this fuel pump for my 1997 GMC K1500 XC Z71 with the 5.7L V8 and it worked perfectly. The product fit exactly like the OEM product without any jerry ringing. Best $49 I ever spent for a quality part as I bought this part from Amazon at a damaged packaging discount.

My 97 Silverado was dead, previous owners “brand new OEM fuel pump” wasnt OEM at all. This is one of the only pumps you should put in your truck, and it fixed my issues. Still working.

It’s worked and brought my 1996 chevrolet silverado back from the grave. If your unlucky like I was and your pump burned out AFTER you filled your tank, I highly recommend taking the bed off (2 people minimum) and (4 people minimum) to lift back on. It was 8 bolts.
Should also power wash the top of the tank and let dry to minimize forgien debris falling in the tank. Just remember to be easy on the sender unit as it is the most fragile part of the whole unit.
And for fun compare your local auto parts store prices with this. I thought I was going to have to settle with a failure prone airtex, but amazon saved the day. Replace your filter too, and every year afterwards.

Lasted only 4 months before failing. I replaced all necessary parts with the pump. Pump and sending unit assembly appeared to be well made, came with a wiring harness which was nice. But it did not last. Will be replacing with an AC Delco pump. My last one lasted 8 years.

Would give 5 stars, but time will tell. Only had it a short time. If it goes out in less than a few years, will update review. Purchased a new locking ring at parts store and mentioned that I chose Delphi over Airtex. They said ‘smart choice’ even though they stock the Airtex. It was easy to install, once I got to the top of the gas tank — that wasn’t easy. It makes more noise than the other one because there is no insulation around the motor. Otherwise, glad to have the Silverado running again.

I spent lesser money on an ebay pump which lost pressure under acceleration. It caused a lean condition and CEL. I dropped the tank again and installed this, it solved the problem.
