installed and had a running engine in 15 minutes. works great

Other kits provide wiring and zip ties for the same price it was inconvenient that these items were not included, it delayed the repairs.
Amazon Customer –
Good, functional coils, but installation requires some wiring modifications to the engine. Have to search online for how to install as the kit has nothing of that sort included.

I’ve got one of the twin 24 hp Kohler engines on my 54 inch rider mower. I’ve had to replace three (total) of the old electronic ignition coils since I had that mower (circa 2004 purchase). I probably could’ve saved some money if I’d known these were being cut over to this new ignition type. I think I had to pay upwards of $99 a coil the first couple times that I had to replace the old ones. This is a much better value, of course, and I don’t expect that they will fail over the life of the mower. I followed the directions from a video on YouTube. There are a bunch of videos you can find on how to make this conversion. Not hard at all. Just gap the coils as suggested. Cranked on first start and runs beautifully.

Don’t buy cheap coils
I did and they didn’t last a full season
These work great

Solved my poor running engine problems. I thought it was the carb as it would smooth out if I played with the choke but it was definately the coils. These are an upgrade to the original coil that have 3 connections.
How to Install:
1. Remove old coils.
2. Install these rounded side down pushed as far as possible away from flywheel. Just snug them up so they dont move. DONT OVERTIGHTEN AS THE THREADS ARE EASY TO STRIP.
3. Clean magnet on flywheel with sandpaper or wire brush. Then rotate in front of the 1st coil.
4. Use a business card and slide that in between the coil and magnet. Loosen the coil bolts until it moves and sticks to the magnet and then tighten them back down.
5. Rotate to the other coil, u can get the business card out by rotating the flywheel, and do #4 with the other coil.
6. Connect the single connector to the WHITE wire from the old coil plug. (Might be able to slide the old connector right onto this coil as it is a simple spade connector. Just something I thought of writing this)
Thats it you are ready to Rock n Roll!!

I purchased these to convert my coil system to a one wire system when I started having problems. They work great and we’re 1/4 the cost of the name brand. These are super easy to install if you have some mechanical knowledge.

Easy conversion, look it up Kohler had a SNAFU with their ignition system. So far no issues
