I went out on a limb and ordered this starter from the manufacturers website because it looked like the same starter I had on my log skidder. Got it in and compared, it was the same. Put it on my john deere 6068 6 cyl diesel engine and it has worked for a year now. Just ordered my 3rd one for different machines. I can’t speak for other engines but it will fit jd 4045 and 6068
